As we are a week away from the deadline of the current contest... it's my responsibility to tell you that there's now a second part to this challenge (it was always planned, to be kept from you until this point).

Modifiers.

Not only will you be looking to catch pokemon, but now, you will get bonus points for meeting certain criteria.

10 Shiny Pokemon (NON HACKS ONLY) - 25 bonus points (Screenshots of each shiny Pokemon required, in thread and on game page)

25 Shiny Pokemon (NON HACKS ONLY) - 50 bonus points (Screenshots of each shiny Pokemon required, in thread and on game page)

Level 100 Pokemon - 1 bonus point for EACH pokemon at level 100. (Screenshots of each Level 100 Pokemon required, in thread and on game page)

Non-Hack Bonus - 20 bonus points if you didn't use a hack to catch any of the 386 Pokemon (this means using only Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/Gold/Silver/Crystal/Red/Blue/Yellow/Green). Only counts if at least 300 pokemon were caught.

386 Pokemon Bonus - 10 bonus points (must catch all 386, counts if you use hacks, though you will be ineligible for Non-Hack Bonus)

Yeah, that's right, I might have a third part ready to drop closer to the deadline, to keep you on your toes. This isn't just about catching Pokemon, this is about doing it in a way that leaves no doubt as to how dedicated you are to your Pokemon Training.

Well considering not one person has made a single suggestion, I'm going to suggest one I know I can do. because I know I will work on it.

Glitch Hunting Contest- How much can you break the game?

Basically what this is is that you have to find as many glitches as you can through out gens 1-3. That's literally the only way I know how to explain it, so I'll give you some rules

1. No cheats. Seeing as how cheats can easily break any game, it would make it very unfair.
2. Each glitch is one point. You can use the Mew Glitch to count for 1 point, but it'll only count one time, Similar to the pokemon contest we just had.
3. You should probably use a video for this one. If you do use screenshots, take of screenshot of each step of the glitch So we know that it is a glitch.
4. You can use glitches to get other glitches. Say you have to catch a certain pokemon to activate a glitch, You could use the Mew glitch to get said pokemon.

If we are doing this competition I reccomend not saying anything here just for stalky reasons Still have that steam group you know! x3

My suggestion is a speedrun of Wario's Woods on NES.

its pretty easy to finish it within an hour or so.

Rules:

1. You can create a video of it, it doesn't matter.
2. You can use a screenshot if it shows your game time. not sure if warios woods does but eh rules can be adjusted by leggy
3. obviously must be submitted to the RGR page.

That's my best suggestion. Don't have a lot of ideas.

We could do a throwback and use Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Obviously would be a high score competition. We did it in KS (I think) and I'm not exactly creative enough to make up my own (yet) but it's not like this game was torture or anything.

I'm no good at speedrunning or glitching (though speedrunning would probably be better), so I thought I'd throw something in for high score.

I suggest a high score competition across 3 games for NES: Balloon Fight, Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros.

Another idea: See who can get the furthest in Punch-Out, starting from the beginning.  Winner is the one who can complete the most the fastest.  Of course, a video would be required.

Unfortunately, that's illegal for multiple reasons.

1. You only get to choose one game, really, since the entire competition is a marathon as it is.
2. Balloon Fight is being done by The Irony.
3. Pac-Man was already done this camp.

Your Punch-Out idea, however, is valid.

Other valid ideas submitted by this cabin:

1. Speedrun of Wario's Woods.
2. THPS4 High Score Contest

Personally I like the punch out idea, sounds like something I could do also ouch, try to come up with something original and get shot down c': (actually I don't really care)

But yeah, what does everyone else think?

So I have an idea, and I'm pretty sure nobody has thought of one for it.

How about a competition for Sonic 2 - Robotnik's Revenge which is basically all of the Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 bosses in 1 ROM hack?
The objective is to get the fastest time in the Time Trial mode for the game.

Anyways, that's pretty much all I've got

GameBoy1023 : I quite like the idea of a boss rush competition.  I'm not super good at Sonic, but I like this idea nonetheless.

okey gaiz, I'm here to confirm that the game we will be playing is Punchout! I suggest practicing a lot before you submit your final score. I've never played punchout so I have no idea how hard it is, but we'll find out soon enough.

All four teams have confirmed their games of choice with me, so with 30 minutes to the deadline, I will give you all the list of games, and the rules, so as to not take up a post in the Activities Thread.

Balloon Fight High Score
1. Must play in High Score Mode
2. Must Submit Score on Page
3. Obviously, this is straightforward, we've had enough of these that you should get it by now.

Donkey Kong High Score
1. Read above. Same rules.

Sonic 2 Speedrun
1. Must be done using high score mode.
2. When submitting, your SCORE will be what you submit. Below the score will be the time the plugin was in use for.
3. If you cannot complete the speedrun, your high score will be your score (however, anyone who does complete the speedrun will be given preference for first place).
4. Your screenshot should come after you finish the final boss. IE, Eggman should be exploding. It will look something like this


Punch-Out Speedrun
1. Same rules as above. Goal is to get to the end as fast as you can. If you cannot, you will be judged based on how far you got.
2. Video is required. This is to prove you didn't just enter a cheat code.

Pretty simple stuff, right? Any questions or concerns can be brought up with me. A reminder of what's on the line...

REWARDS (for each contest) - Individual
1st - 100 Points
2nd - 50 Points
3rd - 25 Points
4th - 10 Points
5th - 5 Points

Additionally, the top 5 in each contest will move on to the SUPER MEGA CHALLENGE MARATHON. If someone is top 5 in two or more contests, they will get one entry. As many as 20 people could be in the final challenge, as few as 5 could be. It all depends on who finishes where.

Again, the top 5 in EACH GAME GET A SPOT IN THE FINAL EVENT.

You do not have to play all of the games. You can play all four, you can play one, you can play none at all. But this is the best and final chance for you to score any points. Do not let this go to waste.

The deadline is a week from now, 8/20/15, at 12:00, midnight, EST.
