JayJaded : I don't think mv's comment was directed at you. I think it's intention was to let everyone know that we need to step up our game, not to try and place the blame on anyone. It'd be better to avoid internal turmoil, so I'm letting you know not to take offense by him comment, as derogatory as it may seem if misinterpreted (assuming my interpretation is correct, which only mvhup know's for sure what that is).

mvhupsel : I know you're the captain and it's not my place to tell you what to do, but I think it'd be better to ease up on your aggressive approach when it comes to commenting on our overall performance. I understand that encouraging the team to do better is a good thing, but if it sounds like certain individuals are the cause of a lackluster performance (which I can see from your last comment), then it will only lead to bad chemistry and members wanting to leave. We want everyone to work together and be happy/proud to be in this cabin, and the best way to do that is to give a positive outlook on cabin performance (I'm not saying that you're not allowed to be critical if need be, but try to keep everyone jovial).

At first I was going to only send this via PM since I intended to follow leggy's recommendation to not post anything but submissions, but seeing the way things unfolded I'll go ahead and ignore that for now.

I apologize in advance for the wall of text, but to address what has been brought up thus far, here's a copy of my PM to JayJaded soon after reading his post (he didn't respond to it if anyone is wondering, not that it matters):

"I felt like I needed to clarify some things since you seem to have misunderstood the meaning of my previous post. This is not an attempt to coerce you to come back, you're free to leave if that's really what you want but I just don't think it should be due to the reason you presented. If for some reason you're unhappy with the team or simply don't feel like taking part on Vizzed Camp anymore then by all means feel free to leave, the whole point of this is having fun after all.

Now, you seem to think what I meant with my post was that you guys are not good enough and that you need to step up your game, but honestly that has nothing to do with it whatsoever. Here let me clarify things, this is our situation: 4 somewhat active members and 1 mostly inactive member, with 2 of us simply gone. If you look at the other teams they're not only more in numbers (exception being the newly formed Cabin 5), but also more active than us (which Cabin 5 probably will be, looking at their members). This basically means we're at a disadvantage, not because some/all of us suck but simply due to numbers advantage and how active the others are. On certain types of activity such as this one, number of members and activity are big advantages since they increase the chances of getting good results, so it's only logical to ask of us that we try a bit harder than the others in order to compensate for our disadvantage.

That's all there is to it really. Oh and don't forget to message leggy informing of your decision, regardless of what you decide."

I suppose actually wanting to try my best to accomplish things wasn't that wise of a decision in the end, quite the opposite in fact. Regardless, I am sorry to say that this time I shall be the one dropping out. I didn't want to do this at first, even when I said beforehand that I would drop out of the competition if we didn't get enough activity. Still, even after trying to ignore that it seems that wanting to people to give it everything they got to compensate for that didn't really please them, instead it either accomplished nothing or the complete opposite. That being the case and with me being unable to play Mr. Nice Guy, there's no reason left for me to insist on remaining here since I would no longer enjoy myself, while possibly clashing with others because of my way to approach things and this is something I would rather not have happening.

Therefore I'm hereby dropping out of the cabin and leaving my duties as captain. Best of luck to those that remain and my sincerest apologies.

Well...great. Now we've lost three guys, including our captain (and four if Jay is gone too).

Since technically you haven't chosen your name/captain/etc whatever, you guys could join this one instead. But I don't know where you guys are at. This cabin is effectively down to two members for the time being, and that, obviously, is bad.

I'd like your input, as well as the input of mrfe and megamanmaniac on what we should do.

This whole camp has been a mess. People dropping out left and right is not helping.

I told mvhupsel this, but I might as well say it here too. I'm fine with having anyone who wants to join this cabin join, especially since we could use all the help we can get (4 people are gone, and 2 are away/busy), so there's literally nobody to turn to. If they want to join, then I have no objections.

legacyme3 : I'll join this cabin if it's okay with the other two. I'm really fine with whatever. I was fine with staying in my original cabin but I didn't want to leave Bara. So whatever Barathemos and juuldude decide applies to me as well.

To be honest I find it kind of sad that we can't just have a friendly competition without teammates turning on each other... instead of being a competition where we show off our talents and creativity it's going to turn into a competition to see which cabin can last the longest...

Little did you know, my secret plan is to make Vizzed Camp into the Hunger Games.

I hope this can be considered some form of good news: My trip was pushed back to Monday instead (My Dad had to do too many things today, thus we have to wait for his next day off), so I can participate in this part of the competition; after Monday, I doubt I will be able to do any competition that involves playing a game in the RGR. I might be able to convince my Mom to let me download it when I get there. My activity will still be lessened, but hopefully I can get things done once I get there.

As MMM has already expressed support for the idea, and seeing as SadSecrets is away, I'll speak for our cabin and say that any of Cabin 5 is welcome to join us. We're down to essentially 2 and a half people, until SadSecrets gets back from her mom's place, so we've got a HUGE disadvantage to the current competition especially (and potentially future ones as well). Your help would be welcome.

Also, as the new captain (a wild co-captain-turned-captain appeared!), I think it'd be foolish to ignore the basic point mv was trying to convey. We're down to a significantly lower amount of people than most of the other teams, sharing a significant weakness with Cabin 5, and therefore each of us (both from Cabin 5 and from ours) will have to continue to put forth an effort to stay on top. We're second for now, which is a great position to be in, but only determination and teamwork will keep us near the top.

I know I've been somewhat inactive, which has raised concerns (and valid ones, too). I'd like to lay those concerns to rest. My inactivity has been mainly due to my mom going through heart surgery last Wednesday (the 12th), which only caused temporary inactivity. I'll be able to preform my duties as captain starting immediately.

Finally, I'd like to name megamanmaniac as my co-captain.

Hopefully this won't be too late. I got called into work early yesterday, and worked late, so I haven't been on my PC all that much since my last post.

Alright, team! Last week was a downer, as not many of us were active, but this week's competition is a perfect way to throw ourselves back into contention! As leggy said, this week our mission is to "Write Something Entertaining"! There's no limit as to how long it can be, so feel free to write anything you find amusing! *coughcough Vizzed rules apply coughcough*

Each of us only will get one submission, though, so just let me know when you post your submission. It's totally ok to throw ideas around between us, I find that discussion always helps get my creative juices flowing.

By write something entertaining, you could just write a poem. A poem can be written in just a few minutes, but be creative, and make sure it is something original and something you are proud of
