I want to pre- order Halo 5, the trailers for it have really suckered me :/
I should probably play Halo 4 first though..

As of right now the only game I have pre ordered is Plants v.s Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, the game before that was Splatoon.

I've never actually pre-ordered a game. There's never been any pre-order exclusive content I've wanted, nor have I ever had any difficulty finding a game on the release day. 

I plan on preordering Mighty Number 9. I have never pre-ordered a game before, but I'm a huge fan of the Mega Man games and I'm happy that at least a spiritual successor is coming to fruition.

These are all the games I have preordered, all on xbox one and all with Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked.

Halo 5 Guardians - $59.99 - $5 deposit, 20% discount, $10 bonus rewards, $32.99 on release day.
Star Wars Battlefront - $32.99 on release day.
Madden NFL 16 - $32.99 on release day.
Rory Mcilroy PGA Tour 16 - $42.99 on release (Not eligible for $10 bonus rewards with preorder)
Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars Starter pack - $64.99, net 37.99 on release day.
Tomb Raider - $32.99 on release day.

Likely going to preorder Rare Replay, on the fence about Gears of War Ultimate.

A majority of the time I only put down $5 each, and just wait to rack up rewards points and use bonus rewards from previous transactions to knock the total down. I never pay more than $40 for a brand new game on release this way.

I don't really pre-order games unless I know I'm going to be playing them a lot or that I really want to get the games as soon as they come out. Though, three games come to mind right way of games that I have pre-ordered:

• Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection - I was a big fan of playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 when they were on the PlayStation 2, and I really wanted to play MGS: Peace Walker so I knew that I had to get the collection. Though, the delay the game had in Europe wasn't that great, though I'm patient.
• Dead or Alive 5 - And no, it's not because of the girls in it (though, it does help). I would say that I'm a big fan of fighting games (though, my skill isn't that great), and I was really interested in getting this game, especially when there was a limited edition version available, so I pre-ordered the game to get that. Also, the game happened to be released on my birthday, so it would have been a good birthday present to myself. Though, the show messed up and didn't even get the game delivered to the store till a week later. Again, I'm patient.
• Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster - As with Metal Gear Solid 2/3, I was a big fan of Final Fantasy X when I first played it on the PlayStation 2. I know it's not exactly the most praised game in the series, but it's a personal favourite of mine, so I pre-ordered that one too, as well going for a limited edition version. And also like the MGS set, I'm still playing both today. (Well, not literally today, but very recently)

I'm not sure if I'll be pre-ordering any more games, since I don't usually have that much money on me, but unless there's a really good game out there that's coming out that I'm very interested in, I'll just stick to getting it the old-fashioned way.

I generally dislike preordering games, because it can often lead to disappointment and game not living up expections which makes me regret doing it. Waiting gives me time to see what critics say and there's really only a few games I want enough to the point where I'd get them regardless if they're considered good enough. And things like pre order dlc and such just seems like a cheap way for them to try and get your money.

Watch Dogs more or less ruined my ability to be extremely hyped for games, that game was one big disappointment. Even so I often don't have enough money to where I'm able to preorder games anyways so it doesn't matter too much.

I don't know if it is about that, but I reserved my copy of Final Fantasy VIII to play it on day one. That's the only game for which I did that, and it was worth every penny of it ($60 I believe)

As of right now, I have pre-ordered Super Mario Maker for the Wii-U at GameStop, mostly the reason I preordered the game because it looks really interesting and customizing levels is even better because I am a guy that likes customize a lok of things and I figured I preorder it in case there is any preorder bonuses for the game.

I may also preorder Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon in the near future, but my main priority is Super Mario Maker.
