A few of my friends and started a band where we could cover rock songs with our ukuleles sadly my mom said that we couldn't be in a band together because I was the only one in the group that could play a ukulele, and one of my friends had a electric ukulele and a really loud amp. lets just say the police were called.

I'm not in a band though I have always wanted to be in a band. I never learned how to play a musical intrument so that's probably one of the reasons why I never was in a band. None of my friends were in a band either.

I have yet to be in a band or group with other people. I would like to maybe get together and play music with other people in college though. I recently read that the best way to take full advantage of playing an instrument and composing music is to play and collaborate with others. This is something I would really like to do if provided the opportunity. My guitar can act as both an acoustic and an electric guitar, so playing electric wouldn't be a problem for me. I'm extremely grateful to be bestowed the opportunity to play an instrument. I'm currently playing guitar now, and next on my list is piano.

Razor-987 : How long have you had your guitar and are you actually good at playing it? The best way to get others to know you want a group or something would be to start recording yourself playing so others can hear what you can do. (You cant expect someone to approach you and ask you to play with them if they don't know you can play)

A year should be more than enough to learn to play it well enough, and I'm sure you could always take a class or something once you are in college, so I'm sure everything will work out fine for you.
