Hello everyone! I'm quite new to this website (which is superb by the way).

I took quite my time since I signed up yesterday by doing the Newbie's Quiz testing some great Super Nintendo games and reading quite a few important threads.

I'm mostly hyped about playing the 3-player version of Seiken Densetsu 3, a game I hold dearly in my heart and memories. I am currently wondering if the save file will hold over in the Netplay so I'm testing out soon with one of my friend.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the site so far! As for Seiken Densetsu 3, keep in mind that in order to start a netplay session, at least one of you will need the netplay item. It can be bought here for the price of 10.000 Viz. You only need to buy it once to start netplay sessions.
We charge Viz for it since netplay can take up quite a lot of server strain and also to get more users to contribute to the site. Here's a list of some basic things you can do to get some quick viz.

You'll excuse me, but I did not yet understand how to link you in my sentences like you did 18mlivingston. The game I talked about is really great. I'll let you see for yourself! If you are a fan of RPGs with live action play and different occurrences (depending of your initial character choices), you'll love it! It is also called "Secret of Mana 2". It's the same kind of universe (or the same, not sure) than Secret of Mana. If you were a fan of that game, you should love as much, if not more, the second game. In any case, I did. 

To Furret. Thank you for the tips, I already read that page (leading me to make the quiz early on). For the Netplay item, I thought I've read in the Netplay help forum https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=47069 that we could start a game even without the item (at the cost of 50 Viz each and every time). In any case, glad to see you wanting to help me!

Linking people (or as it's called on here, summoning) can be done by typing the username of the person you want to summon, followed by a colon and then a space.

As for netplay, that's one thing I'm not too familiar with. I don't know if there's an option for users without the item to start a session. You can send a private message to this user (which will notify all the RGR staff members) for any help with the RGR, netplay, or the plugin. I'm sure they can help you out with it.

SNES netplay should work. There are a small amount of users that report issues with SNES netplay. We haven't gotten to the bottom of what might cause this issue, but for the majority it seems to work fine.

A few tips:

It usually works best when both users are close to each other geographically as well as fairly close to the netplay server (L2 works best, but sometimes this changes depending where in the world you are playing from)

If you are playing from different continents, this could be an issue.

The systems that currently support netplay:

NES
SNES
Master System
Genesis
Turbo Grafx 16
MAME (This is still Iffy and requires a port to be open on all users routers - MAME netplay is still new)
N64(Doesn't work that great)
Playstation 1 (Requires Playstation item from item shop)

Furret : The netplay item is no longer REQUIRED for netplay. Users can pay a small Viz fee for each transaction. David changed this a few months back ;-)

Jordanv78 : Thank you! Yes, just did a couple of tests alone and noticed the incredible lags with MAME on my computer. I'll stick with Mednafen. I'll be coming back with how it turned out after testing it out with 2 other players.

NorweAstafar : MAME is the arcade emulator. The MAMEhub link in my experience, should only really be used when trying to netplay MAME games. Because like I said before, for both people to join requires all users to open a specific port on their router.
