Does anyone know or remember that chubby little mascot that use to steal the hamburgers in those retro Mc Donalds commercial's ?

Mc Donald's has decided to bring back the Hamburglar but this time his appearance got some big changes.

From a chubby cartoon character to a man that looks like a " hipster ". Yes that's right the hamburglar is a man now.

Some say that he is handsome, some say that he is just downright creepy, and wouldn't want their kids next to the guy. This is just Mc Donald's another atempt at rebranding their characters. Like how Ronald Mc Donald got a makeover last year, the mascot wearing yellow cargo pants and a yellow vest on top of his red and white striped shirt.

I'm curious to know your thoughts about the new look. Do you like it or does it have to go ?

Do you think bringing the Hamburglar back is a good marketing strategy ?

cnw64 : It's kinda great that Micky D's are finally bringing back the old 1980's/90's mascots again, I remember growing up seeing him and all of the other mascots in the fast food chain's Happy Meal whenever my parents (mostly my father because him being a truck driver and he eats a lot of McDonald's on the road), I always like seeing all of them and all the shenanigans they all get into, ahh memories. Great they are bringing one of them back, I like to see more come back soon.

I think bring back Hamburglar is a great idea to bring some good marketing to the company.

I think... I can't be unbiased here. I grew up seeing these mascots in commercials, playing with their toys and their games, and even reading their comic books...yes, they had comic books. So seeing them redesigned is offputting to me because they're tossing aside the versions of the characters that I have so many childhood memories about.

Still, speaking as objectively as I can, I don't think the classic hamburglar would go over today --times have changed and so has kids entertainment. Still, I don't think they went about it the right way, as this new design is just...off. I think it misses the mark of what they're shooting for here. That's just my two cents though.

I don't even remember this character. The only character I have known growing up in Ronald McDonald and that's it. I think it's somewhat creepy but in this modern day bringing him back as a real person will probably bring in good marketing. The reason they probably didn't use the older character was because it's 2015 now. Simple as that. I think it could be a good idea. I guess it will just take a bit of time to see what happens. 

I'm sure my brother remembers him but I wasn't even born till 1995 , so that's probably why I don't really remember him sense he was from the 1980/1990s. Oh well, I guess we will see. 

Well, that's kinda cool. I mean, his original form was weird to start with, honestly there was no way he wouldn't look this way as a human. Well, I mean, the first one wouldn't only target gluten-free organic free range burgers, but that's just the price of becoming a hipster.

Now we wait until they revive Grimice as....a blob? And that moon man guy... Now those would be truly terriffying and or / amazing.

After seeing what they did to Hamburglar I can't help but feel like if they remade him it would indeed be terrifying. o__o *shudders* Let's not encourage them, lest they be forced to change their name to Nightmare Fuel: The Fast Food Chain.

Also they have to extend their breakfast menu if they're open 24 hours.

I go through the drive-through on my way to work sometimes at 2:30 AM and all they have is a few items and tell me their "breakfast" isn't served until 7:00 AM.

It could be worse. He could be called now Hambrapist or Hambarsonist.

But what do I care. I never eat at McDonald's.

Oh, well if it's creepy we can make a Five Nights at Freddy's fan game out of it xD

   Well personally I like the guy in the commercial better. He just seems better to bring in customers than an actual guy who looks like a robber.

The short cartoony guy just seems better for customers. I mean I do not know how but that guy just would make me want to buy a hamburger more.

cnw64 : Well to me he is neither creepy nor handsome in my opinion he just looks pretty much like every other guy I have seen just that he is dressed up as someone that stopped showing up  back in the early 2000's. If I had to say if I liked it or not I personally really don't care if they are revamping a person who robs burgers as long as he doesn't steal my Jalapeño Burger if he does that you bet your butt I will be on him in about 1-2 seconds.

I'm not quite sure why they went the route of making the Hamburglar some male model but I guess they needed to do something to get some attention their way since no one really thinks much about any of these McDonalds mascots anymore.

The Hamburglar was one of my top 2 favorite McDonald's characters when I was a kid with my favorite being "I Am Hungry". The new Hamburglar seems to be alright but I'll wait and see before passing any kind of opinion. 

He looks like a member of the Mafia. I can just imagine how that would go down.

"This is a nice restaurant you got here. It'd be a shame if sometin' happened to it."

...Is McDonalds going to actually make that a thing? Like, the Burger Mafia or something? I hope not. Would he have a tommy gun that shoots french fries?
