Have you ever gotten into a TV show that you were really interested in, and then all of a sudden you find out they are ending after the current season? It has happened to me many times. The worst ones are when the show is in it's first season and the characters and storyline are just developing, and then right as something big would happen the show ends.

So to make the question clear, What shows have unfortunately cancelled on you just as you were really getting into the show? Also what is your favorite show that was cancelled?

Well for me, I have always been interested in Futurama, but I only just started getting into the show maybe a few months before it was cancelled and then I realized how much I love the show. Futurama is easily my favorite show of all time and I wish it wasnt cancelled.

zanderlex : I was very surprised when they cancelled Futurama since it had consistently done well since it first came on. I guess it was just time, but yeah I completely understand. Although, Futurama is on my list of shows where I would only watch it if I happened to come across it while flipping through the channels. That being said I can see why it could be favored by so many, with so many different aspects of the show being funny and unique.

They were scheduled for one more season, apparently they had already started working on season 8 when the show was cancelled so they had to stop everything.

zanderlex : That's even worse. Getting all hyped up for the next season that has already been promised, and then all of the sudden it gets cancelled randomly. There isn't any closure for you parting with the show, and there is a lot of things left unanswered. If you are anything like me, then that will frustrate you to no end.

The shows I like that got cancelled weren't series, but it was a big deception nonetheless. I used to love Whose Line Is It Anyway, with its witty and sometimes coarse humor until it got replaced by... Doctor Phil.

When I was younger I was sad when the Disney Afternoons (NBC) and Captain N and the Video Game Master (ABC) got cancelled. I hate you, TV producers!

janus : There was one show that I wish I would have kept up more with when I was younger, called Captain Planet. I loved this show so much, but I was never able to keep up with when it came on. Even though I am 24 now I still wouldn't mind seeing them all again. It would be awesome if it was to be added to Netflix seeing as The Magic School Bus was on there the last time I checked. I know this doesn't pertain to the comments you made, but it happened to pop into my head when I read Captain N.

Sadly, I have never heard of the three TV shows that you listed after Whose Line Is It Anyways. I feel like I should check them out. As for Whose Line, I loved it when Drew Carey hosted. I actually have never seen an episode where he was not the host, so I wouldn't know how much the show had changed since he left. My only requirements for me to go back to watching the show is for Wayne Brady and the other two original guys were still on the show as regulars. They were definitely the best. If you haven't watched the bloopers for the show you are missing out on hilarious content.

Thanks for the reply and keep them coming.

The greatest cartoon of the 80s, Thundaar the Barbarian. Google it. Conan meets Star Wars meets the Road Warrior. It was so cool they had to cancel it after two seasons is all I think. Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth, Thundaar battles the forces of evil with his trusty Sun-Sword and failthful companions Ariel the wizard and Powerful man-beast Ookla the mok.

Ferdinand : That show sounds awesome, and right I my wheelhouse. Again I am reminded of another show after reading the show that you mentioned. When I read Thundaar my mind went straight to the Thunder Cats (HOOOOO!!!!!). Also a great show that I never finished, and while I'm at it Sailor Moon also comes to mind since at one time they both came on around the same time.

Anyways, back to the show you recommended. The mixture of a post-apocalyptic Earth plus a Sun-Sword (assuming it's a fire sword or it has some sort of power in which is recharged via the sun), a wizard, and a man-beast sounds likes the perfect mixture to make an amazing show.

wolf742 : It really was. It's like it was ahead of it's time. It just makes no sense that it got cancelled. It was on Saturday mornings. I guess it couldn't compete with Smurfs?  Anyways, check out the intro on youtube and you'll see... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I9blXQEHyw

I was pretty sad Fox cancelled 'Almost Human'. Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Doom, Red, Priest) and Michael Ealy (Barbershop, Seven Pounds, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Common Law) played as partners in a futuristic world, where androids were commonplace. Michael Ealy was some older model that experienced emotions and whatnot, it wasn't a totally original idea, but they acted it out extremely well. Then they cancelled it after 1 season.

Also, 'Longmire'. Great show, expertly cast, perfectly acted. Such a good show, loved every character, every story arc, every episode. Then A&E cancelled it after 3 seasons, even though it was one the highest rated shows they had... Not sure why, maybe it cost too much for the next season... Well, anyways, it appears like Netflix has picked it up for a 4th season... Gotta go to my friend's house and watch those. I'm excited. Love me some Lou Diamond Phillips.

F. Starr : I completely forgot about Almost Human. That was a really good show, and I was pretty disappointed when I found out it was being cancelled. I feel like they could have gone in so many different directions if they had been able to stay afloat, especially with Karl Urban's character.

Now for the other show that you mentioned, I only know about through commercials and the occasional flip through on Netflix. I have never actually watched an episode, so I have no idea what it's about. That being said I'm always up for adding more shows to my list, so I may have to check it out.

Futurama at least had three episodes that could have been a good season finale, but Firefly was a show that never really even got started. And no, that damn movie or the comic books did not really made me any happier. If I have ever gotten impotent raged over any tv-show, it is definitely Firefly!

Brigand : My girlfriend would absolutely agree with you about Firefly. Sadly, I have not seen the complete season yet. Even though I know it ends poorly, I still want to see it.

Another show comes to my mind that was on a hiatus for the longest time, keeping everyone wondering if another season was going to premiere. The show I am speaking of is Torchwood. It is no where near as bad of a cancellation like Firefly and Almost Human, but it was still unfortunate. If you have never heard of Torchwood, it is a spin off of Doctor Who. If you have watched Doctor Who since it was revamped with Christopher through David Tennant's Doctor, then you would have seen the main character of Torchwood a few times. His name is Captain Jack Harkness played by John Barrowmen. It is interesting to see another perspective of the world that is Doctor Who from someone other than the Doctor. It is a show worth watching, but don't expect an actual ending of the show.

There was a show that I was into called Revolution that got cancelled last year. To be honest though, I wasn't a big fan of some of the stuff that was going on in some of the later episodes, so I wasn't too upset when it ultimately got the boot.

**Just in Case- Spoilers**

I've thought of another show to add to the list. This show is from ABC Family and is called Twisted. The storyline was different than everything else that was on the channel at the time. The show is based on a kid that was incarcerated for killing his aunt. Then 5 or so years later he is released from Juve and goes back to his home and reenters into the community; going to high school, trying to make friends, and trying to earn his two best friends' (both girls) trust back. I don't know how everyone else feels about the shows that are on ABC Family, but to me a lot of them are really good.

gamerforlifeforever2 : Oh man!!! I was so mad when Revolution was cancelled. It was one of my favorite shows while it was on, the storyline was progressing well and so were the characters. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever that this show was cancelled. I actually enjoyed the what was happening near the end and if there would have been more episodes I have a feeling it would have gotten better.

For me, I was deeply saddened by the canceling of Longmire. Now THAT was a great show. And they're most likely going to cancel "Forever". Which I was really liking. It was almost a mesh of Torchwood and Elementary. Now, I don't care for those seperately, but I really liked this show.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

Yes, I have been let down so many times now that I don't even watch a new tv show thats airing until its completely finished and all the seasons are out and able to watch. It's just security and that way I don't have to be let down anymore than I already have been.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
