I don't think computers are to blame for obesity, hell I lost weight using a computer  Although I also did not eat for a whole summer that probably is why. But I think computers are a lot better then TV. TV is completely 1 sided especially the news but with a computer you get all sides of a story.
I agree that most people use computers for lame stuff, example: twitter or myspace or facebook. But there are people like me and you who need it, it is our job its what we do best
As for social skills I got the same problem, some people are just born social rejects I don't think it will ever change. Lacking social skills isn't that bad of a thing because you are probably more skilled at listening to detail and being more focused on things. JigSaw: Exactly. If you're using the computer productively than you're definitely not wasting your time. I wasn't actually born with social problems though, I was actually really popular in middle school but I started to get really shy in high school, mainly because of the way my dad treated me and also because I started to become obsessed with the computer and shunned away almost all my friends who were getting into drinking and drugs. Lacking social skills isn't necessarily bad but Rasen was saying that spending all day long on the computer increases your social skills which is incredibly far from the truth.
Also note that my posts were geared toward a younger kid rather than an older kid or adult.

yeah, I tend to agree with David.... computers before say middle/high school should be limited as much as possible. Let kids get on their bikes and play and stuff.
when they are 12 then let them develop spend time on the computer.... at that age they can make more informed decisions about how they should spend their time. I remember as an 8 year old I would play video games until i died if my mom wasn't around to tell me to eat or sleep. At 15 that's a much different story. Woah, I never said it was good to spend all day online. But for me, it has helped develop my social skills. Spending all day online isn't a good thing, unless you make your living online.
Also, 1 size doesn't fit all. It may have deteriorated your social skills, but it has helped mine. It's the truth for me, but not for you.

Yeah it'll be a while but I'm pretty excited to find out. Wife goes in for her first check up this week so it'll be interesting to see what the doctors say, they wont know much but it'll still be interesting.

oh, just asked my wife about the gender thing and she said "about 5 months" or about 22 weeks. That's about the earliest you can tell. I think we found out at our 26 week ultrasound.... but it's gonna be a while before you get to find that out...
but yeah, go to this appointment for sure. At what point can you find out you're having twins? My grandma prophesied that someone in my family would have twins and twins are common in my wife's family so I'm kinda curious about it.
