So it rained a night or two ago and it just poured down like crazy, tons of thunder.. I thought there was gonna be a tornado.. after it rained it turned really cold. I personally like cold weather.. more than hot at least but the only thing is when it gets so cold it hurts I hate the cold weather. I have insomnia and I never get any sleep, if I do it's like a couple of hours or so .. and last night I kept waking up over and over freezing. It's just like it's so cold it hurts. So do you guys like cold weather if so , what about when it gets so cold it hurts you physically?

Not sure if this is the right area for this thread but I hoped it was so if not please move it, thanks ~

Weather is science- I think this is a perfect place to post

I personally love the cold weather because it makes me appreciate feeling warm.  I think the feeling of snuggling up under warm covers on a cold day is one of my favorite feelings.  Sitting around a campfire on a cold night is so satisfying.  Coming in from the cold makes you grateful for your home.

In the summer, it's just hot.  I don't have A/C at home, so I just sit in front of a fan and mope on the excessively hot days.  It doesn't make me appreciate the fan.  It doesn't make me appreciate sitting around half naked looking for some relief.  I don't live far from the beach, but even at the beach, you're just getting burned by the sun, you feel dehydrated after swimming for too long, and it's just not nearly as satisfying.

Give me a cold day over a hot day any day.  (But really, a splendid Spring day beats them all).

Legitly, cold is the only thing I like when it comes to weather. I was up during that storm posting, and I was hoping that if it was raining, that it would get colder, but for me it didn't. I can't stand anything that's over 60 degrees, and even if its in the 50's like its been recently I have to carry my backpack to and from school, I can't wear it because ill overheat. I just hate hot, warm, or even room temperature weather, it has to be cold or i will die.

I like when it's cold and rainy. When it's just cold I don't care for it as much. It's just pain and struggle at that point, as I learned this past winter. I'd take cold and rainy over hot and sunny any day, but I prefer hot over cold.

My perfect weather is 60s and no wind.

For me, "cold" means that, despite being dressed up from head to toe (with woolen socks and only my eyes showing) I still feel cold. This usually happens when the temperature (natural or with wind chill) is -20 Celsius. Or when my room gets so cold that even with a few blankets the cold keeps me awake. When either situation arise I stay in, put on more clothes or spoon

Otherwise, I literally ENJOY cold. Even though the temperatures at night went down to 12-15 degrees in the past week I have been utterly unable to sleep because it was too hot for me - as in I wake up in heavy sweat. Unless it gets below 10 degrees I WILL sleep with the air conditioning on.

I desperately hope that metabolism slows down with age; it's getting intolerable.

I live in Florida, so cold weather is an extremely rare occurrence, which is perhaps why I enjoy it. I might not be so inviting to the cold if I wasn't taking off my sweaters in January because it's too hot, but since that is the case I really do enjoy the cold. At the very least I prefer it to laying motionless in my room with 3 fans on in July wondering if I should risk the heat stroke I might get going downstairs to get some ice.

The annoying thing about Florida is that our cold comes from wind chill. I can go outside in Michigan when it's thirty degrees out and really appreciate the cold, but in Florida it's extremely biting cold since you always have extremely fast (and I mean really, really fast) winds coming at your face at all times. Moral of the story is don't live in Florida, kids, it sucks here

ender44: From my experience in Washington - it's VERY damp - the problem might also be humidity. That's where the expression "bone-chilling" takes it signification from: you do feel it in your bones when it's cold and humid.

But the fact that it freezes so rarely must be doubly miserable since your houses are NOT made for such cold temperatures.

Maybe it's because I live in Canada just below the 49th, but I dream of moving somewhere that is warm all year round. I am one of those perpetually cold people. I despise temperatures below 70 degrees. I wish it could be room temperature all the time but it's not. I'm from a family that can afford food and shelter but no heat. This winter was awful for me. Worse than ever. My entire family loves low temperatures. They think it is so awesome to live in a house that rests at 54-60 degrees during the winter and 58-61 in this season.

Summers are good here. They get really hot. When it swelters other people, I seem to be in my element.

I have a skin condition that makes my epidermis crawl and itch and burn when my body overheats. Even that is preferable to shivering or even feeling a slight skin chill. I hate being cold. My ears and hands need to be covered when I go out these days. Secondarily, I don't like being cold in my feet, arms, legs and torso.

I just don't empathize with people who need to leave windows and doors open even during the summer. It never helps matters really; just as hot outside. Because my family hates me they leave doors open during the summer to let in flying insects which I also hate. If they are miserable and cannot fix it by leaving doors open, then at least I will be irritated as well. Jerks!

Postman3 : You live in Northern Ontario? If so I didn't know the Hudson Bay could lower the temperatures so much

Otherwise, opening doors and windows helps creating a draft so the air inside doesn't get too hot. When one doesn't have air conditioning, it's the best solution available.

Personally, I absolutely love cold weather, especially during fall and winter becausse cold weather never effects me at all. Hot weather however is a big pain in the butt in my opinion. I hate hot weather because it makes me very sweaty and uncomfortable. When it's between 50-70, I think it's perfect. When it's below freezing, I always think about how "this feels so much better than when it's in the 80's and above".

gamerforlifeforever2 : Same here. Granted this winter was more brutal than usual temperature wise, I still slept better when it was cold than when it was hot last week. I was so happy to have my air conditioning installed that I let it run through the night even when the temperature was around 15 Celsius.

Personally, I like the cold weather if it doesn't get below minus 15 Celsius. Now over here is around plus nine Celsius and I can tolerate that. It is fine. What I have never liked is the wind. Or sunshine without any clouds.

I don't mind the cold weather as long as I'm inside. Snow is beautiful to look at, but I don't really like to be outside in the winter anymore.
I used to love winter, since we had snowball fights at school and some of the teachers even participated from time to time. Too bad it wasn't allowed in middle school.

It never gets
extremely cold over here, so I've never been 'hurt' or anything by it.

Bintsy : "Its so cold that it hurts." XD I know EXACTLY what you mean. Cold weather sucks...I can't stand it. I'm really glad that I live as far south as I do. Summer is about to start and I can't wait for it to get warmer. The heat calms me down.

I don't like the cold at all, especially when it snows. It doesn't snow very much down here but when it does, even if its just one snowflake, everybody freaks out and it shuts down all the roads. So I'm stuck at my house doing absolutely nothing. I can't go to work, I can't go to the store, I can't do anything! My extremities get so numb that it hurts. I guess that's what I mean when it gets so cold it hurts XD

I've almost never liked cold weather. I'm pretty sensitive so when I feel the cold hit me it's awful. However, I don't like hot weather either. Warm and cool weather are the types of weather I've always loved. I also enjoy rain sometimes, especially after a hot day or an activity that made me sweat.

I hate the cold weather. It's so annoying to go outside and shiver over and over again. Inside is a little better, but I do get irritated at the damp on the windows.
Thankfully it's summer now :p

Kyana : Wow, I feel sorry for you, you're missing out on so much. I just wish that summer would end already and that we would skip fall and go right to winter so that the heat doesn't bother me too much.

Kyana : Your profile says you are from Belgium. If house insulation is anything like France, then I understand your loathing of cold. My sister visited her French in-laws during a few winters (and she's from Canada) and thought it was very cold even though temperatures were around freezing.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
