So, a recent theory has arisen after Five Nights at Freddy's 3 came out, suggesting that the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 pizzeria has burned down. The evidence supporting this is in the trailer of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. At the beginning, London Bridge is Falling Down is playing, which correlates to the great fire of London. More evidence supporting this is the phantom animatronics in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Look at them closely. They look a bit burnt, don't you think? Not a bit, a lot. More evidence is that Phone Dude mentions fire being a real risk. Could he have known this because of the fire that burnt down the Five Nights at Freddy's 2 pizzeria? What do you guys think of this theory?

This seems pretty plausible, actually, now that I think about it.  Balloon Boy is very obviously made of plastic, and plastic doesn't degrade like he appears to have been doing in Five Nights 3. It gets dirty and mold grows on it, yes, but it doesn't really rot like that, especially modern plastic.  And he looks burnt. The other animatronics do too, but rotting fake fur/ fabric can simulate that really well. Been there, and it's gross. Metal can't, of course, and the metal bits looking sooty might be a good indicator...

I think you're on to something. I bet it did burn down. Now I wonder if the protagonist from Five Nights 2 was the one who did it. XD

Yunimori : Which protaganist? There are 2 of them, if I remember correctly. On Nights 1-6, you play as Jeremey Fitzgerald, and on Night 7, you play as Fritz Smith, until he gets fired. I just came up with another theory, actually. Since Fritz Smith got fired, maybe he got angry and burnt the place down? I know, it's odd, but think about it.

Though it is a good theory amd they do look burned quite a bit so there is supporting evidence. But even then unless the game or the creator straight up tells me I'm sorry to say but I cannot believe this theory. It will always be a theory until either the game or Scott says otherwise sorry.

Thing is the only animatronics who look burnt are the phantom ones. If you see the box on the left of the screen, you see mask and other stuff belonging to the animatronics, none of which look burnt.
