It works fine for me, so I'm guessing it's just you that's currently having this problem.

I think it's because you can only create one thread per day as a newbie. If you haven't tried for multiple days to create a poll, then you should try again another day when you haven't created any threads yet. If you have tried it for multiple days though, there's likely something weird happening.
