I have so much stuff going on! All these extracurricular activities and stuff, plus my homework! Can anyone give me some advice on how I could have more time in my life?

Well, a helpful tip is getting off of Vizzed, and actually doing stuff. Okay, that was kinda mean. Let me actually answer the question.

Look, to have more time in your life, you can

#1- Cancel some of these extracurricular activities. It's better to disappoint some people than become exhausted with so many activities.

#2- Do schoolwork first. It's amazing how much you can get done when you don't procrastinate.

#3- Ask people with more wisdom than me for help. I'm sure that adults would be able to help you with this more than I could ever help you.

That's all I can think of. Sorry.

The only thing I can think of is to schedule your time more. Not add things but organize what you are doing and when. Factor in the extra stuff and travel time and what not and find time for everything.

You might find you have more time than you realized or you might find that something you are currently doing is holding you back.

geeogree : Failed summon.

Your parents probably don't understand that much. Try to talk to them in a non-accusive way, and I'm sure they'll understand. Sometimes you have to quit somethings so that you don't sacrifice... stuff. I'm sure your parents would prefer you to quit some activities, than have you come home with a F, a few Ds, and one C.

ZeroTails : I guess. I manage my school work okay, it's just than I'm left with no time to hang out with my friends, because they rarely want to hang out on the weekend, and only after school usually.

SilverHyruler : Well, that's pretty sad (not in a hurtful way). I wouldn't recommend you to bug your friends to hang out with you, but maybe tell them about you problems, and they might understand.

ZeroTails : Thanks. Do you guys ever have trouble with your locker? Because I always seem to have close calls with being late, since my lock mechanism randomly gets really tight. Anyway to fix that?

SilverHyruler : Not really. I'm not sure about what might be causing that. Have you told the teachers about that? The janitors? Because I'm sure that they can help more than I can. Anyways, the mechanism might be not as *easy* to open than it's supposed to be, so it might have to be replaced or oiled. Again, I have never had this happen to me, so I might be speaking complete nonsense. Ask your teachers and/or janitors.

ZeroTails : At my school the locks are separate from the locker. Maybe I'm just opening it wrong or something. Whatever, I just figured, may as well ask it in this thread I made.

SilverHyruler : How are the locks separate? Are they spin-style combination locks, keypads, what? Because there are some things you can do with a spin-style that I know of to help make them a bit looser without compromising integrity, if you can't get a school maintenance worker to help you loosen them up.

SilverHyruler: Okay, ONE thing you can do is that every time you close your lock, put the lock spin dial on zero. EVERY time. This 'resets' the lock so that it's ready to take your combination from the beginning without the tumblers inside accidentally clicking over, which makes you have to start the combination over when it doesn't work the first time.

Another thing you can do -- if it is the tumblers inside that are sticking to begin with -- is take a little bit of petroleum jelly and put it on the little 'indent' that goes down in the lock when you click it shut. Just a LITTLE, maybe half the size of a pea. Then spin the dial all the way around, first one way, then the other, then reset it to zero. This will lubricate the tumblers so they won't stick and make your lock stick. You wouldn't believe the crap that gets stuck in spin lock tumblers, ugh. Pencil lead, dust, tiny pieces of pencil eraser, bits of lint...all of that builds up and makes the tumblers stick, so your lock will have a hard time opening even if you get the combination right.

If those two things don't help you any, that means that the lock has something that's partially broken inside, and you
need to talk to maintenance to get it replaced before it breaks completely and keeps you out of your locker. They're supposed to do that anyway, if the locks are supplied by the school.

Edit: SUMMON FAIL YET AGAIN, I'm sorry.

I've never had any trouble with my locker because I always remember what my combination is. Perhaps I should suggest you get a key lock? Also about the main question, like everyone else has said, focus on your schoolwork first, THEN focus on vizzed and other fun stuff. Those are my suggestions.

Like a couple people said already, you should do your schoolwork as early on as you can so you get it out of the way. If the extracurricular activities (or some of them) are getting too in the way of your homework, you should try to quit them.

Your parents should understand that you aren't quitting just because you don't want to do it anymore, but because it's getting in the way of your schoolwork, which is sadly more important.

I had this problem throughout high school and sadly ended up being somewhat anti-social because of it. Now it's my senior year and I've decided to do almost absolutely nothing after school anymore and my day completely consists of hanging out with friends. This may make me sound lazy to a degree, but to be honest it's probably the best decision I've ever made in my entire life. I have tons of friends now, and nothing "weighing my down" after school.

From your profile I can see that you are 13, so I'm guessing you are in middle school... I wouldn't quit all of your after school activities because that will tell your parents (holy crap I just killed an angry bee in my house...) that you are lacking motivation, and this will definitely not make them happy. I was "encouraged" by my mother to continue my after school activities (and before this year, forced), but she realized that it was something that I'd given a lot of thought to, and she didn't want me to be a social outcast and have no friends because of after school activities.

What you need to do is have a serious conversation with your parents, and don't just let them tell you "you are wrong" and take it. You need to get valid reasons to "prove" them wrong. Don't think of it as proving them wrong though, think of it as pointing out their mistake. For all I know, your parents have a perfectly valid reason to not let you quit your activities, but assuming that they don't, this should help you.

There's always the chance that you're just terrible at using this type of lock. In that case, I'd suggest getting a similar lock for practice at home. If it's a problem with the lock itself, I agree with the other responses to get it fixed/replaced.

I had a tight schedule at certain points during high school. The key to doing well is you choosing the activities that you like and sticking with them. When you have personal motivation, it gives you the energy to manage your time better and things are so much easier to handle.
