Would you care if I told you that you had to kill innocent animals, for no good reason? Because you do. That's a commandment. Just don't boil a billygoat in it's mother's blood, that's also a commandment.

Would you care if there were TWENTY commandments? And not Just Ten?

If you truly read the old testament, you will find that all these things are true.

Alot of the old testament does not apply to us anymore. Some of the obvious things do, but alot of it doesn't.

Bibles have to cost money, otherwise there's no motivation for the people who publish them.

Moses broke the original tablets. Therefore everything that he told his people in Exodus 20 was 'word of mouth', and in Exodus 34, he went back and got a new set. These are the real commandments;

* Thou shalt worship no other god (For the Lord is a jealous god).
* Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
* The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep in the month when the ear is on the corn.
* All the first-born are mine.
* Six days shalt thou work, but on the seventh thou shalt rest.
* Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, even of the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.
* Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread.
* The fat of my feast shall not remain all night until the morning.
* The first of the first fruits of thy ground thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God.
* Thou shalt not seethe a kid in its mother's milk.

And I meant in the item shop. You charge an awful lot of Viz for a bible.

I think there was something in Isaiah about how "Ye sold yourselves into bondage for no money, and ye shall be redeemed without money"

Which says bibles should be free, or Jesus will overturn your tables. ;D

Moses didn't break the tables of your board, silly. ;p He broke the original stone tablets that the commandments were written on. Everything in Exodus 20 is just what Moses thought he remembered, before he went back for the real tablets again in Exodus 34.

The commandments you are familiar with were recited by Moses, who conviced his people that they had come from the Lord; they were never written. Moses was the only human that read the commandments on the stone tablets that were given him by the Lord. For some inexplicable reason, he broke the tablets before anyone else had an opportunity to read them (Exodus 32:19).

He never told the people what was written on the tablets and allowed them to believe that the commandments listed in Exodus Chap. 20 were the ones written on the stone tablets that he broke. This may be hard to believe until you read Exodus Chapter 34. In Exodus 34:1, the Lord said to Moses: "Cut two tables of stone like the first and I will write upon the tables the words that were on the first tables that you broke."

What was written is told in Exodus 34:14-26 and can be seen above. Although the re-written commandments were identical to the ones on the tablets that Moses broke, most of them are not even similar to the ones that Moses had recited to his people. In Exodus 34:28, it is written: "And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the word of the covenant, the ten commandments."

The REAL Ten Commandments (Exodus 34) are ...
1. "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:" (Exodus 34:14)
2. "Thou shalt make thee no molten gods." (Exodus 34:17)
3. "The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt." (Exodus 34:18)
4. "All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty." (Exodus 34:19-20)
5. "Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest." (Exodus 34:21)
6. "And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end." (Exodus 34:22)
7. "Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel." (Exodus 34:23)
8. "Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning." (Exodus 34:25)
9. "The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God." (Exodus 34:26)
10. "Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk." (Exodus 34:26)

Even if you don't like the truth, in Exodus 20:23-26, God gives two more commandments to Moses:

11. "Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold."

12. "An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee. And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it. Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon."

In Exodus 31, Moses returns to the mountain where God gives him the commandments written on stone tablets. Interestingly, the only commandment that God conveys to Moses in Exodus 31 is the commandment about keeping the Sabbath. He repeats it to Moses again and again and again. Isn't it strange that this is most often broken commandment?

The Sabbath is Saturday yet most Christians celebrate Sunday instead which was originally a Pagan day of celebration (Sun God).

"Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.
Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed."

And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
