The only one I can really remember is Michael Jackson, loved a few of his songs, but other than that, I don't actually know where most of my music comes from in terms of years, some of the songs I know of that are old, I don't know what year they are from or even the artist

  Besides Pop, New Wave and House music. There are two genres that entered the mainstream during the mid to late 80s. Latin Freestyle and New Jack Swing. Latin Freestyle and New Jack Swing were both great genres during the mid to late 80s and a good sense of music while you are partying with your friends or hanging out at a night club and of course you can listen to either these genres anytime!

I'm really a fan of the dance mixes that were produced during the decade; always full of sharp, hard-hitting samples and synthesizers. Hip-hop was also picking up traction throughout the decade, with the likes of Grandmaster Flash and Afrika Bambaataa leading the way during the earlier half, Run DMC and The Beastie Boys taking the other. A good amount of my record collection comes from the era just because so much excellent music came out.

The 80's, even if I didn't live them, I listen to them, the likes of Queen, Styx, Rush, Billy Joel (he started in like '75, but hit his peak of popularity in the 80's) and Frank Sinatra (that ones a bit of a stretch as he started in the 30's, but pushed through until the 90's), it was a magical decade for music, and much better (in my opinion) than today's music, I mean, who doesn't like to be the champion and win the super bowl?

The 80's had their fair share of great music and crap music. I do not know what is so magical about them,they just have a life all their own. Everything from Gloria Estefan to Michael Jackson to Ozzy to Metallica just was awesome.

I sure did love me some Michael Jackson. I know this is cliché to say, but Thriller is one of the best albums of all time, and other personal favorites were Off the Wall (technically 70's, I know) and Bad. I still forget he's gone sometimes. Also loved me some Metallica, Queen, Guns n Roses and many more.
