The fastest runner is, without a doubt, Sonic the Hedgehog. I don't really remember any other character that is faster than him, only those that are in equal speed. But, I don't recall any characters being faster than him.

I have proof of this in the Sonic the Hedgehog games namely sonic 3 and knuckles for the genesis sonic was chasing Robonik on the death egg but if you notice sonic cannot catch up with him he then hops into his death robot and the final boss battle begins. This also happens in sonic 2 in the same place sonic chases Robonik but never gets to him. So there is accually proof from the video games that tell you that Robonik is faster than sonic. Sorry but it is cannon because it's in the games to think a fat guy that looks like a egg being faster that a hedgehog created to be fast XD.

I would go ahead and say Sonic the Hedgehog, but there are other contenders competing in my opinions for fastest Video Game character.
And the contenders, in my humblest opinion, are as follows.:
1: Speed Boost Ninjask (Pokémon series).

In the DC world: Flash.
In anime: Ichigo, Luffy and Minato Namikaze (later, Naruto also learns his skill).
Best of all: Sonic.
He's able to run 800mph(even faster if he has the emeralds with him), and also there is this skill he uses called chaos control
which is checkmate for flash.

How can the answer be anyone else other than Sonic?
