They talk about things that are possible but will never happen in sports.  I don't think a #16 seed will ever beat a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Is there anyone who thinks this will ever happen?  Or is it so outlandish we shouldn't even talk about it?

I'm sure it will happen sometime. Let's not forget, for the most part, every team that makes the tournament is a decent team, even the 16 seeds.

Well, I don't think it will ever happen. #1 seeds are ranked that way because they are one of the best teams in the country. I think the only way it could happen is if an older legendary coach went to go coach at a smaller school. At least that coach would probably have some experience coaching tournament games.

I certainly wouldn't call it impossible for it to happen. I guess its sort of like your chances of winning the lottery...you still have a chance, but its a very very slim chance. I'll give it a slim chance of it ever happening...like less than 1%.

   I think that for sure we will one day see a #16 beat a #1. Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? Absolutely not. Like others mentioned, the #2 has been upset by a #15 quite a few times recently. If an upset is possible like that happened three times since '12, it kind of makes me think we may see it happen relatively soon as well.
