Hello New World,

It was indicated that new users should say hi on the Newbie Forum.  I'm looking forward to perusing this forum.  I joined this site because I wanted to be able to play the Lode Runner: The Legend Returns game on it.  I played it when I was younger and wanted to see if there was a way to play it online.  I'm excited to see what games Vizzed has but am still a little confused as to how to get the games to play.  Maybe Lode Runner: The Legend Returns is just shown on Vizzed and not available to play.  Anyhow, I intend to see what other games I can play.

Sincerely,
Koshi_ma

koshi_ma : Hello koshi_ma, and welcome to Vizzed.com

You're wanting to play Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, right? Well, you're going to need to spend some time running around on the forums, build up some Viz (The virtual currency used on Vizzed.com), fifty thousand to be precise, and then you'll be able to buy the PSX item, due to the massive amount of Data in Playstation games, Lode Runner will take up a LOT of bandwidth, and that item is the only way to access the games, in short, you need to show that you're commited to the site before using that much valuable bandwidth.

Don't quote me on that last part, all I know is that you can't play PSX games until you have that item.

However, I'm a nice person, and... You have 10K to get you started, enjoy your time here on Vizzed, and no doubt a member of staff will be here to welcome you officially, I hope to see you around the site, either on one of our many forums, or around the RGR.

Welcome to Vizzed. So judging by the wording of your post, I have to wonder...are you into programming? I suppose the "Hello new world" line was what really provoked that thought.

Anyway, yes sadly the PSX games require the PSX item before you can play them, but until you reach fifty thousand Viz you can play tens of thousands of other games in the RGR. And maybe you can find the N64 ports of some of the PSX games that you remember. Granted they're slightly inferior usually, but they can tide you over a bit.

Are there any other games that have caught your eye yet? Maybe old favorites, or even new-to-you games?

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Eirinn : I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I can't do programming.  I had several friends in college who were computer science majors and would talk to me about the different programming languages they were learning and about the projects they had to do.  I took a class in C++ and enjoyed learning the basic stuff but the deeper they went down the rabbit hole the more confused I got.  The "Hello New World" comment was a reference to "Brave New World".  I in no way expect Vizzed to be anything like the world John found off of the Reservation, I just thought it would be a fun way to start off the post.  I adore fun, quick references.  I feel like I went on a tangent.

Anyhow.  When I was looking through a list of all of Sierra's old games I found a few that interest me.  The first one I looked up on Vizzed was The Dark Crystal, I loved that movie and it's song regardless of my friends not liking his tight pants.  I was able to find the game here.  I tried playing each of the two choices it gave and finally worked out the kinks.  When it started it took me through the title screen and then to a blue screen saying:
"PLEASE INSERT DISK#1, SIDE "B"
AND PRESS RETURN."

I went back to the original The Dark Crystal page and tried to see if anyone had made any comment about the issue but no one had.  My next thought was that maybe there is a forum I could go to in order to see if the issue could be resolved but I haven't found one.  What should I do in instances like this?

Aw, I am so disappointed! I don't know if I can bring myself to reply now. *sniffles* lol Just kidding there. I've been seeing a lot of programmers signing up here lately, so it seemed like a perfect fit. Assumptions. Meh.

As for your disk problem, I've never tried the FDS, but I managed to find this thread. That may be able to help you.

Basically it looks like you can click the eject button and some new disk options will pop up and you just keep clicking until it inserts the next disk. Someone else in that thread mentioned doing it through the configuration menu (accessed by pressing esc.) as well. This might make more sense if you clicked on the link and read it yourself as I'm doing a poor job explaining it. xD Hopefully one of those methods will fix your problem with it.
