   How often do you go on long journeys in Minecraft? You could be like me and go a lot to try to fill out my map a bit more, Or you could just settle down and never go anywhere. Usually I go on a lot to build multiple shelters.

   Anyways the question is how much food do you take along with you when you go wandering around Minecraft for a long time without going home. I usually take a lot of food and way more than I should since I am prepping for a big journey but then forget how much one steak can last you.


   So how much food do you take with you?

I'll take some food, but it's not really a priority. The swords I bring will usually be enough to get kills on the journey, and it's not too much of a hassle to bring a furnace. When I do bring food, it's a mix of cooked steak and pork.

I like the feeling of self-sustainability on long treks, so at least half my inventory is filled with items like: buckets (2), furnaces (1), wood (30-40), boats (1-2), swords (3-4), pickaxes (3-4), and others I can't remember at the moment. I listed those to demonstrate that my strategy is to have the items that I can use to get food, minerals, and water/lava, instead of bringing those items themselves.
