In the late 80s or early 90s, I was playing Discover the World, an Apple IIgs game by Entrex.  For a save name, I mashed the keyboard and got gsfd (I'm left handed). It ended up being a really good game, and I liked the ring of the letter combination.  I used it at school for save files all the time.  My classmates even took to calling me "Good, smart, friendly dude," after the letters. Years later, I was signing up for a bulletin board similar to this one, and gsfd was taken.  Dfsg seemed the next best choice!  It's been with me since. I guess that makes me the "Dude who is friendly, smart, and good."  Not as good of a ring, but I'll take it!

When I first signed up for dA, four years ago, the sign up screen had a space for your username which had already been filled in with "yournamehere". I had a real sense of humour back then, and actually wanted to use "yournamehere" as my username...but it was taken ' So I just changed it slightly, adding in some internet slang too just to make it personal to myself.

I put a lot of thought into what my username should be when I came to this site, and since this is mainly a gaming community, I was thinking under that context. I emphasize that I play games because I want to play for fun, for enjoyment, and not like playing super hardcore or play all the time intensely. And thus, play4fun is born. Hidden Phantom is one of my favorite characters in Mega Man Zero, one of my favorite video game franchises of all time.  However, since I began using it, it has taken many forms: Hidden Phantom, Phantom, Phantom450, etc. Over time, it became the persona I had created for myself on the internet. As a result, it meant something when I chose it, but it means a whole hell of a lot more now.

Well, the name Darthdaishi was born like 10-12 years ago. It all started with Final Fantasy 11. Well, actually long before that even really. When I was young, one of my favorite games was Mechwarrior and my favorite mech of all time was the "Daishi". So I used the name as my toon in Final Fantasy 11, I was an elf from San'Doria for those who have played it. By this time I was married and my obsession with the game put a bit of a wedge between my wife and I so I disabled the account for a year. But as addictions come, I started playing again "stupid I know" and this time I created a new character Darthdaishi, because I am for the dark side of the force and i was told that Daishi means Black Death so the Darth fit fairly well. Darthdaishi was a Tarutaru from Bastok for those who play Final Fantasy 11, Since I have made another persona named Torvice, but I like Darthdaishi for memories purpose.
