As far as college sports go, the 2 most popular ones are college football and college basketball. Which one do you prefer, college basketball or college football? My personal preference is college basketball. I like college hoops more because of March Madness and there are more huge upsets that happen in college basketball than college football. Even though I much prefer the NFL over the NBA, my opinion on NCAA basketball vs football is much different. My favorite college basketball team is the Dayton Flyers. I don't have a preference as far as college football goes, but if an Ohio team is doing really well, I'll root for them and hope they win it all.

You have 32 conferences in Division 1 and each team plays about 30 games a year.  So, if you have ten teams in a conference, you're talking about 9600 games in a NCAA basketball season.  

Football has 124 teams and they play 12 games, so you have about 1400 games.  That's one sixth the number of games basketball guys play.  And hoops is only 40 minutes.

Of course there are more upsets in basketball.  

I like football more because it's a spectacle to play only one day a week.  Teams with rivalries play only one place each other and they go back and forth.  I don't mind the home and home series but it detracts from "We won in your house."
