Ok this one is going to be a pretty simple and straightforward set of questions for this thread. I want to get everyone's opinion ( whether you go to school now or from when you were in school ) on what they think of classes in high school.
1. Do you think that all the classes they say are necessary are actually necessary or do you believe that some are not ? If not then which classes would you say are unnecessary ?
2. If they are not on the list as necessary then what classes you believe should be added to that list and why ?

I think P.E is a waste of a class period because at least at my school all we do is play basketball and that gets boring I'd rather have something different that just going there and repeating what we did yesterday and you have to have a P.E class to graduate
and that's really stupid, for me it is.

I think my school should add vocational classes so that way I don't have to take a bus drive to a different school with vocational classes and I think that because it's a waste of gas and other peoples time, when you can just take a little extra time and make it here when you have the space and a building already for it.

And my school took out computer classes 4 years ago... I wish they would add that too Dx but too bad I'll be graduated before and if any of this takes place.

Borax : Tell you the truth, I don't think P.E. is a waste of a class, how I looked at it, I liked P.E because the reason why, It does get you away from working on papers and actually doing something for once.

But there is a class I think personally is pointless, and that is Health class, the reason why, you mostly talk about personal feelings and what your physical and mental well-being can function. I think it's stupid to my point of view, and a worthless class, but it was mandatory to take to graduate.

I don't really know why a question like this would be brought up but I do understand that many people feel like classes don't do anything foe them and I disagree with them a lot. I believe that almost every class that you can possibly take is necessary and will at one point help you in life, except maybe History classes, but even those help because its always good to know how something started or about past big events and such. Aside for that, I would definitely say that nearly every class that you take is necessary, even though you might not think that when you take a class, it always usually comes back around to bite you of you don't take it, and I learned that from experience.

I think that some classes are not necessarily necessary. However, a lot of things can interest different people, so while they may not be necessary for life, they could be necessary one day for somebody's potential job.

Ok let me explain why even if some classes are not necessary per se it is still fundamental that you take all of them.

The liberal arts were designed as a series of disciplines meant to enable you to participate in society. The original seven were Grammar, Rhetoric, Logic, Music, Arithmetic, Geometry, and Astronomy. Nowadays that also includes subjects like additional languages, literature, and the physical sciences. Apart from enabling you to participate in basically any basic intellectual discussion, these subjects were meant to help you explore several aspects of the academic world, so you can decide on one that interests you and you can develop your skills on it, potentially going to college to study it too.

I think some classes lack depth like home economy, but in general I'm happy with the selection of classes that students generally have to take.
