In school there is something called ADHD.

http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_changing_education_paradigms

What are your thoughts and opinions on ADHD?

Is it a biological condition or a response to standardised testing?

This is not my opinions or thoughts, I was listening to a talk on YouTube about it (above) and did not realise there was such critical debate about it.

Ok, why in the world is this in school?

Anyway, ADHD is real, it isn't just some thing made for excuses, that's STUPID. One of my best friends has it, and I know that it is, Even so he is an awesome dude.

Totts:

There is something called ADHD and ADD.

I have
had both.

ADD: Attention Deficit Disorder

ADHD: Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder

My ADHD is manageable now.

I still get overly distracted though.

Basically its REALLY hard to focus and you tend to get hyped up A LOT.

A real small amount of sugar to a normal person is a cake with sprinkles and frosting exploding from the top of it to a person with ADHD.

ADD and ADHD usually happen together and you get diagnosed at a young age.

I can usually see it when they are young too because I see myself when I was younger in them.

It's not an easy thing either.

You get teased in school, you have limited friends, you might end up getting depressed or angry for no reason other than how bad your life was because of this.

It's a mental disorder.A lot of people don't usually understand it.

Which is okay. It's not expected that people would understand such a complicated disorder.

It's just better if you are friends with those people because they will need friends for a lot of people will gang up on them only because they are different.

You usually take medication for a type of thing like this.

Ritalin is a popular choice.

Although doctors have found other more natural things to help.

You can read up more here.

I have actually had ADHD and Anxiety Disorder, which made me horrible at Math and Science back in Middle School. During Class, I got upset very easily, and It ruined my day and I couldn't do anything useful for the rest of the day. When Tests/Report Cards came In I had Nervous Breakdowns, And I never ranked up in Scouting until I was 12 and a Half. ADHD is a real thing, and Be glad you didn't/don't have it.

emoteen134 : Ritalin makes ADHD WORSE, not better. Where in the world have you been, man?

I was actually diagnosed with this when I was kid, but when I got re-evaluated, they said I didn't have it any more, and that the symptoms that I showed of ADHD were actually symptoms of severe PTSD.

Well I don't have ADHD and I feel sorry for ones that did, because I know it's a hard thing, I've had friends with it, and it is a real thing. I don't see why kids would want to make it up. This is such a stupid debate and shouldn't even exist. But, mankind always
finds a way to argue about the stupid stuff.

thing1 : I know that.

But a lot of doctors prescribe it.

I never said it was a good thing.
