The 'Winter 2015 - Nintendo NES Netplay Tournament' will begin either tomorrow or Wednesday. As you guys should know by now, you'll be given 1 opponent each week and it's up to you and that opponent to figure out a time and day to have your matchup. You'll have control over which games you play each week.

I have a short little competition for all of you to help determine who plays who in the first week of this league. Now this is completely optional but whoever scores the best in this version of Super Mario Bros will play against whoever scores the worst (or against whoever doesn't score at all):

That's just Super Mario Bros but it has its own page so that it has a fresh high scores table. To compete for high score, all you have to do is scroll half way down the page and click the 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore' link. After you've taken a screenshot of a score that you want, click the 'Click Here to Submit your Score' link to submit the score to the page. You may attempt it as many times as you want and a video is not required.

I figured this was a good way to make sure the best players don't play against the best players in week 1. I'd hate to see one of the best players get eliminated early on in this tournament only because they were misfortune enough to play against one of the best players in both brackets (remember, this is a double elimination tournament).

takeo masake : No big deal, it just means you'll have to forfeit the first week if you can't get your matchup in on time but you'll still be able to continue this tournament in the losers bracket.

takeo masake : There are 2 brackets, the winners bracket and the losers bracket. Everyone starts out in the winners bracket but if you lose, you go to the losers bracket and still have a chance at winning the tournament. Lose in the loser's bracket and you're out of the tournament.

Davideo7 : Will there be tips for this tourney like in the previous tourney?

I literally just got back home, now I have access to a good connection. I'm also glad to see I'm back in time in order for not having to forfeit during week 1.

I'm surprised at how many users have put up scores in the SMB game already, we're at 13 and that doesn't include myself (I plan to take a shot at it at some point). Foxyman1113 has a great score of 602,300 which will be hard to beat in less than a day.

Looks like Foxyman and I are already going at it. I beat his first score with a 778k, and then he countered with a 830k. I just now beat it with a 912k, and I think that's the best I can do. But I'm anxious to see exactly how high we can set the score.

You guys have until 4:30 PM central time today to get your scores up, which is 1 1/2 hours from this thread (and exactly 24 hours after this thread was created).
