What are your top 3 favorite game systems of all time?

Mine (no order):

Sega Dreamcast
XBox
Playstation



Dreamcast has my 5th favorite game of all time, Shenmue. Also, there are so many damn good games for the system, there are hardly any bad ones! It's amazing, I can randomly pick up a dreamcast game, and chances are I'll love the game and get addicted!! And it's just about as powerful as any system on the market today! Also contains many other games which are on my top 20 list (time stalkers, phantasy star online, soul calibur..to name a few)

Playstation has Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8, my 1st and 2nd most favorite games of all time! I've had ALOT of great memories with the system. Also has a great load of awsome games such as Twisted Metal, Wild Arms, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid...to name a few.

XBox, because it has a hardrive, can play dvd's! Also, it is thee most powerfull system out! It also has my 3rd most favorite game of all time, Shenmue 2!



And super nintendo would be 4th, great memories with this system aswell!

Sega Dreamcast? N64? Playstation? Plyaystation 2? X-Box?...... oh geeze, i can't decide

I guess it would be the NES for me since it got me started playing games.

Also David the XBox's raw numbers are the highest, but do you know which system has pushed the most polygons in an actual game?

Probably PS2 with Gran Tourismo 4
BUT, the majority of XBox games are graphically better than PS2 games (atleast for the ones I own).


And yes, NES is a VERY good choice, I have it plugged into my entertainment center
ANd I play it usually every summer (little tradition of mine), along with 2 other games that I always play every summer.

Actually the Gamecube is the only system I know of to push over 15 million polygons.

The xbox is easily the most powerful system out there. But my favorites would have to be the genisis, the Dreamcast and the Xbox. I love your dreamcast favorites. Add Grandia and sky's of arcadia to that. Not to mention quake 3, NFL2k, and Toy commander.

If you look at how the systems perform the Gamecube and Xbox are pretty much neck and neck.

Yes, can't forget them games...there's just so many good games for the dreamcast, to add to YOUR list...House of the Dead 2, Dead or Alive, Tennis 2k2, Sonic Adventure, Power Stone (to name a few more).

When the DreamCast came out i became a sega fan boy. Dreamcast is definitely my favorite of all time what so ever. The would comes SNES since I love classic games. Next would be xbox since I prefer it over PS2 and GC.

These are the games I enjoyed that I can name off the top of my head, i know there are others that I cant remember.

Its not all about the graphics, but rather the games on the system. I would play FF8 on lets say... playstation, over any 'higher quality' games with better graphics on X-Box. For me, its all about the games.

It really is all about the games to me also. I just get a litttle tired of people just looking at specs and saying the Xbox is the most powerful. By it's specs yeah it is. But really if you look at what the systems turn out, then the PS2 is the worst and the Gamecube and Xbox are pretty neck and neck.

Nintendo does make some totally awesome games as well. Super Smash Bros. Melee anyone? Not saying Microsoft or Sony don't, but there is just something about a Nintendo game.

Have you seen the specs of Both Xbox and GameCube? Actually XBox is a bit more powerfull....anyway, GameCube is an AWSOME party game system!
As I've said before, it's the only system I play games with my GF on
Usually Game Cube games are easy to play, have great replay value, and are just simply fun to play....

BUT, XBox has Shenmue 2!

At place number three we got.....

To clear things up, that shows the specs of GameCube, XBox, and PS2 all compared....surprisingly, Dreamcast's specs aren't very far behind the GC and PS2. AND, I think there are 1 or 2 specs that the dreamcast is higher on than the PS2 (and maybe 1 spec that it has that is higher than GameCube).

But yeah, the Dreamcast isn't on that page, just the big 3.

The processor and Garphics processor speeds are higher on the GC. And if you are looking at the polygon numbers, the PS2 numbers are with no effects, AKA theory. That polygon count is not what actually appears in games. The Gamecube number is what appears in games.

What I mean is that due to the way the Gamecube works, it and the Xbox preform pretty equally. The Xbox does have higher specs, but the Gamecube works in a slightly different way.

The Star Wars Rogue Squadron games for the Gamecube are the only ones I know of that push over 15 million polygons a second. I have heard of no other game that on any of these 3 consoles that pushes more.

If I could only own one game system, that may be the one I'd pick, only because of the HUGE library of games, and many great aswell

YUP YUP I have a master system hooked up right now. It was secret games built into it so you can play without anygames and isnt' that cool. How about Seaman for a dreamcast game. The segasmash pack had shinging force which made it dominant.

How about the killer saturn games. These 3 party games beat any one the GC
1. Gardian Heros 50+playable characters and 6 player combat beat that super smash bros
2. Powerslave this game had a little minigame called DEATH TANK, which you could play 6 player (its also included in quake) not to mention that the real game was remarkable too.
3. BOMBERMAN six player madness... need I say more
