My choice would be the Mario series. I'll admit that I've only played a few games on your list. But of those games, Mario is easily the one that stands out the most. Super Mario Bros. in particular, but I really like Super Mario Bros. 3 as well.

I would have to say that I prefer the Call of Duty games. I'm not much for shooters, or the COD Franchise, but it's a pretty fun game to make custom matches on and have some fun with your friends. You can go online, play 2 or 3 matches, and then you can just leave. 

So yeah, I am going to have to say the Call of Duty Franchise. 

I've only played the Mario series, but I've seen a few other series in your list. I prefer the Mario series because I'm not into shooter games or games with an intense amount of action. Instead I'm into platformer games, which the Mario series is for the most part.

I would say the Final Fantasy series mainly because of how long they are and most of them have great storylines and they have amazing soundtracks. I'm a huge JRPG fan so I guess you could say I'm a little biased.

My favorite franchise is Metroid, both the prime and sidescrolling games. I love everything about them and are flawless in my eyes (except for the end of game key hunts).

Hey there's no wrong answer here. I like the variety I am seeing so far. The poll is just to vote on between those listed as to which one you'd play . The rest of the answer is up to you. Just put in your favorite in your post if you don't see it up there.
As for me I voted for the Phantasy Star series because even tho I am a fan of most them in the poll ... I just love playing the other series. To me Phantasy Star has been shoved in the back and had many hiccups and more going wrong with it. It is still one of the better roleplaying games out there and has the potential to be one of the best. 
@ taterii yeah metroid is a great series. I can think of a lot of side scrollers I like a lot to play. 
@ thing1 if I had to pick a online shooter my first choice would be Unreal Tournament. It's the only shooter I could stay with. Tried C.O.D. , Battlefield, and lots more ... including Counter Strike. I think the last game that grabbed my attention for team play with friends was MAG for the Playstation 3. 

Well, my favorite among these choices would be Final Fantasy, because Final Fantasy games have great and complex stories and a lot of feeling and a great playing style and great graphics and on and on and on... I can continue telling for hours about how great Final Fantasy is, but at the end, we all know that Final Fantasy is great
