For me when it comes to Christmas, the Christmas specials are what sell me, I love seeing the old and the new stuff, the spins on classic tales, and sometimes even seeing how bad they fall flat on their face (trust me I've seen some terrible specials.) So I was thinking now was the time to talk about the specials and what we like and why we remember them.

For me, The Muppet Family Christmas Special. I remember it because it was the only crossover between the Muppets, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock, all at the same time. Yeah something you may not know, all three of those licences are separate, meaning another crossover in this day and age will most likely never happen.

Its mostly a special with some comedy all over the place, the Chef trying to cook Big bird, every time new guests are brought into Fozzie  Bear's Grandma's home they are put into some pretty crazy sleeping arrangement (including some sleeping on coat hooks by hanging by them.) To standard Muppets comedy they were known for. Its a special that gives ya the warm fuzzies inside, makes you laugh, and makes you happy to see all these characters interacting in such an interesting way. And I would be remiss to not mention the guest appearance in the end by the late Jim Henson, the genius behind the Muppets. While I've lost the VHS when I was younger, the special can be found on youtube with a simple search, its a special you don't want to miss trust me.

One of my absolute favourite Holiday specials is the Muppet Christmas special too. I used to watch that every year leading up to and after Christmas. Eventually, the tape wore out and I haven't seen it on TV for years. I've tried looking for it on DVD, but with no luck. I love when the Fraggles make their little appearance and I love when the Chef see's Big Bird for the first time: "Gobbla gobbla humunga!" It still cracks me up.

And I really love Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer as well. It's such a classic. Every year, I sit down with my brother and sister's and we all watch it.

Frosty The Snowman - Grew up watching this since I was 6.
The Boondocks Christmas Episode - Just had me cracking up the whole episode.
American Dad 2010's Christmas Episode - When Santa attacks.
Old School Grinch - The movie kinda killed everything.
Static Shock's Christmas Episode - Sometimes Christmas isn't so jolly for the less fortunate.

Rodzilla : I'm a fan of Rankinbass the people who did the Frosty the snowman and I enjoy their animation style, if you want something else from them, try the Stingest Man in Town, its a Christmas Carol based off the Musical of the Same Name. Really well done and emotional.

As for the American Dad Special, oh yeah, I was dreaming of a Red Christmas that year LOL, and I love the dark Carol of the Bells as the army was coming for them, one of their best and the reason I keep watching American Dad's specials because more effort is put in...and far less shock humor unlike that OTHER SHOW!.

BrenTenkage : I always loved Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and the Charlie Brown Christmas special. Those are very nostalgic and they're all great shows.

*Reaches into the deepest of memories* Nope, I didn't have a childhood. I know about most of these shows, but I've never really watched them before.
