Grinding is always a pain for players. This mainly applies to Role-playing games (For me, it's the Pokémon Series) . You get far in the game then you reach a point with a Boss fight or battle that you can't win. Even if you know the enemy's weakness, you seem to lose. Then you realise the level of your players are too low. In order to beat this boss you need to level up by repeatedly battling the same enemies over and over again to gain the experience in hopes of standing a chance. Depending on how many levels you need and what enemies your facing to gain the experience the amount of time needed for the grinding can vary.
No matter what way you put it, grinding can get very tedious. It's not something you can walk away from either. 
So here's my question, in your own opinion, what's the best thing you like to do to pass the time while you're grinding. It's not like you're going anywhere anyway, you may as well do something else am I right?
For me I listen to music. Whether it's on MP3, Youtube or Windows Media Player the best pastime for me is music. Anything that comes to my mind I play. 
Now how about you? What do you like to do while you're trying to Level up in RPG games? (e.g. Watching videos, listen to music)

On most games I find a way to grind without looking at the screen for the majority of the time.

In those cases, I'll have the TV on and watch something on Netflix while grinding.

Otherwise, I'll listen to music or have a conversation with the other players in the game.

I either watch tv or watch shows or movies on my computer or listen to music.

I pull out my good old friend, iTunes.

It's got everything i need to make any otherwise boring situation entertaining, including the monotony of grinding.

Boxia : I'm pretty much the same but I like to use Windows Media Player or Grooveshark.

Sam24 : Rarely anything, if i'm playing on a emulator i use cheats, or i just mindlessly grind like a zombie.

I browse TV Tropes, which is quite the godsend when playing RPGs with rather few enemies who drop not-so-great exp.  As an example, I was able to read the entirety of Mother/Earthbound Zero's trope page while grinding from level 36 to 38 in the same game -.-

When I'm level grinding in an RPG I never really do anything else except focus on making the right moves so I don't die.

When I'm grinding, I do exactly what you do... I listen to music. I usually listen to songs I have downloaded because Pandora gives you random songs and if you downloaded a song then you have to like it xD. The other thing I do is talk with the other people in my game. I like to just have conversations while I'm constantly repeating the same moves every battle until I run out of PP for it xD.

I unfortunately usually pay attention because if you die when grinding you lose all of your hard work.

I mostly just listen to music, or clear dungeons, or do side quests. I mean, that's what I did in Skyrim, and that's about the only RPG I have actually played played. 

I plan my next move. It's not as boring in Pokemon, at least for me, because it's fun to see your Pokemon's level rise and see their stats increase. It's also fun to see them learn new moves an evolve. Final Fantasy is the worst grinding game, especially the old ones. But for me, I strategize about how I'm going to fight the before said boss or enemy. Set up a shield at the beginning of a battle, or go straight into my magic attacks. Sometimes I listen to music, and other times I talk to the people around me.

Most of the time during grinding in a RPG I will load up stereo with lots of music cd's and just go crazy jamming out while I play. On the rare occasions I am not listening to music then I usually pop open my laptop and watch some anime to pass the time away. If I am in a tough area grinding then I don't do either one of those because I need to pay attention or get my butt handed to me for some stupid thing I do or don't see happening. 

I try to figure out new tactics in the game, and with most games, I turn the music off, leave the rest of the sound on, and I get Spotify up. I listen to all of the playlists, I have and I really just try out new things. In Skyrim, I just try to use Archery. It's fun, but I need the skills.
