I like Spore because of how big of a game it is. Intense programming. Making a civilization from THEE bottom up and go beyond your solar system and galaxy even. It's an impressive game. Sims is redundant, but still a good game.

I'm going to say Sims 3 on the basis that Spore rushes you through the first several stages and then you play the galactic phase for much longer than anything else. I the whole experience of evolutions felt like it was simply over too quickly

Well I suppose you can do a lot, but Spore has an epic feel. Instead of being focused on the life of one generation in one neighborhood, you see and control the development of a whole civilization and species from the beginning to space travel and exploration of the center of the galaxy.

I like that whole "bigness" of spore. Though I think it could use a lot of work. Sims is a little more polished I find.

Since I like to build up my own civilizatinos I go with spore because the race you create is a shadow of what you would want a alien race to look like. An plus all the fun you could have during the game adds up. Sims series was ok just not always my cup of tea.

Honestly, I don't like The Sims 3 all that much. It abandoned lots of things that made its predecessors great. Oh, and the cash shop system is just a cheap cop-out for providing updates to the game. Now you have to buy any new stuff they develop.
