styrofoamboots' and thing1's tie-breaker game was the Panthers @ Eagles game ( the Eagles won 45 - 21 ). They both had the same record for the week, so it goes to tie-breaker #1.
TB1: They both picked the Eagles, and the Eagles won, so it goes to tie-breaker #2.
TB2: styrofoamboots guessed the score to be 37 and thing1 guessed the score to be 31. The actual score was 45. Neither guessed it correctly, so it goes to tie-breaker #3.
TB3: styrofoamboots guessed the score to be 28 and thing1 guessed the score to be 20. The actual score was 21. Neither guessed it correctly, so it goes to tie-breaker #4.
TB4: styrofoamboots' difference was 15 and thing1's difference was 15, so it goes tie-breaker #5.
TB5: thing1 has the higher seed in the playoffs, so he gets to call the coin flip. thing1 called heads, and it was heads. Therefore, thing1 wins.

So, me and MattyIce discussed an issue with the tie breaker scenario, and we would like your opinion, since more than 2 people are participating in this competition.
Currently, if you look at the first post, you will see the order of the tie breakers. Well, we were thinking about switching the order around from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to 1, 4, 2, 3, 5. Do you think that would be more fair?

Regarding the tiebreaker scenario, I would like to keep the order as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 rather than switching it to 1, 4, 2, 3, 5. Also, I have been giving it some thought and I finally decided to offer an addition, if I may. Here is what I was thinking:

FIRST OF ALL
I would like to point out how quickly we have already used All Five Tiebreakers in the First Playoff Game! This is just unbelievable to me because I was not expecting it to reach #5 AT ALL because the odds of that happening had to be very slim. Moving on...

I have grown accustomed to the idea of using "score differential ratios" (which I did not agree on before) but I still believe that the object to this thread is (and has been) to predict who will win the games (in which predicting the actual scores were virtually irrelevant). However, using the score differentials approach is a much better way to determine a winner then to leave it up to a coin flip. Yes, I understand that the beginning of each NFL game starts with the coin flip, but this simple gesture does not necessarily determine the winner of the game itself. The winner of each game is determined by a certain accumulation of statistics that betters one team from the other. So, determining the winner of a tiebreaker by merely announcing a coin flip (which the only thing you would win in the NFL is the coin toss and not the game itself) is therefore, Preposterous!

Winners of NFL games are determined by virtually one statistic; The Final Score. Knowing this, we should determine (by any means necessary) the winner of these games by score. This is why I suggested we use the over-predicted rule which would eliminate anyone who predicted a score that exceeded the actual score, BUT I can see now how this would not work. After saying all of this, I have decided that we should add two more score differential tiebreakers. The first will be added as a Predicted Winner Score Differential to Actual Winner Score Differential tiebreaker after TB2. If the tiebreaker continues, then it will add a Predicted Loser Score Differential to Actual Loser Score Differential tiebreaker after TB3. The following example uses the same order ( TB1, TB2, TB3, TB4, TB5) as in the previous posts and will add the new additions in Underlines below them

Player 1 (record 10-3)
Player 2 (record 10-3)

TB1 - They both picked that the Home Team would Win

TB2 - The Winners Actual Score is 45
           Player 1 predicted 37
           Player 2 predicted 31

(TB3 - Player 1 Predicted Winner Score Differential is 8
           Player 2 Predicted Winner Score Differential is 14
If all preceding tiebreakers lead up to this one, then it would have resulted in a Player 1 victory because he/she is closer to the actual score of the team that won. But, if for some reason these score differentials would be the same, then it continues down the list).

TB4 - The Losers Actual Score is 21
           Player 1 predicts 28
           Player 2 predicts 20

(TB5 - Player 1 Predicted Loser Score Differential is 7
            Player 2 Predicted Loser Score Differential is 1

TB6 - Player 1 predicted score to actual score difference was 15
           Player 2 predicted score to actual score difference was 15

TB7 - Coin Flip results in Heads, which is called by Player 2, so Player 2 wins.

This idea of mine is meant to weed out the possibility of a coin flip. It was also meant to order the seniority of the tiebreakers. In my opinion, the order should start at TB1 because it rewards those who predict the winners of the games which has been the main plot of this thread the entire time. Next should be TB2 and TB3 because it rewards those in favor of the winning team and, if the Player automatically wins based on predicting the exact score of the team that won, then that Player should also win based on how close they were to predicting the score of the team that won. The same goes for TB4 and TB5, if both Players were equal in predicting the score of the team that won, then it rewards those in favor of the opposing team (naturally, the team that lost). TB6 is next to last because if both Players were equal in predicting the outcome of the team that won AND the team that lost, then it should be determined by the maximum total. As for TB7, that is basically the last straw since both Players would obviously be considered as "equally matched."

LAST BUT NOT LEAST
If you do not accept these new additions that I have suggested, then consider this: You should at least film a video of the coin flip if the tiebreakers were to ever come to that. Just typing out the word "Heads" or "Tails" does not give enough proof (or satisfaction) for anyone involved in this thread in my opinion... but... then again, that's what this is anyway... just my opinion
