Metroid has been an amazing franchise in my opinion. I really enjoy the whole idea of exploring dangerous places and shooting up space creatures, slipping into morph ball mode and shooting missiles, fighting ridley and all that good stuff. This is somewhat a mysterious series though. For instance, there is a question that has been bugging me...Where did the phazon come from? Supposedly, we are just supposed to believe that Phazee was the beginning and end of it. But it really feels as though something else exists that they are not telling us. Just why did phantoon show up in Other M not as a disembodied ghost but as a full bodied creature (which in my opinion, bears some resemblance to the metroid, Why did the metroid Prime take on a behavior similar to the X and eventually recreate itself as dark Samus. In its last moments, it also appeared to look like an X. It is in this moment that I find something very interesting. It seems that here we have the intersection of three mysterious powers of the metorid world. The Metroid Prime is in the Phazon core, and even seems to act like an X at the end. Here is another tricky bit. If the phazon is as corruptive as it sounds and seems, why is dark samus able to control it? Should not the phazon be controlling her? In my opinion the Metroid Prime served the same purpose as Omega Ridley did. To protect the leviathan seed. But here is two other interesting facts...this one I just thought of. Even though Samus aran destroyed the Metroid Prime, guardian of the leviathan, she did not destroy the leviathan and therefore did not destroy the phazon to restore the planet. The same is true of aether, she took out an entire world when she defeated the emporer ing, but what about the leviathan and the phazon. Perhaps she took both of them out with the dark dimension. However, this theory is shattered by Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. At one point in the game, you scan some of the pirates' data, and it tells you that the federation left plenty of Phazon for them to harvest. Granted, if they did not leave this one open, it would have been hard to make the next game the way they did, but it still could have continued. Next thing, in my opinion, the federation has not been very bright this entire time. But I am going to say this. When they created the suits that could utilize the phazon that was now in all the hunters' bodies, weren't they the least bit concerned that it would lead to more phazon traffic that would eventually take over them? Or did they just assume since they were not dead from the phazon attack that they were immune to it.

Here's another thing. Metroid Prime three comes before even the second metroid in the metroid timeline, so why did they give her a different ship in this game? In this game, they show a new and improved gunship that is a little more areodynamic and also has more abilities. In all the other games...even in other m she just has the normal ship. The only exception is Metroid fusion, where her ship crashed, and she used one of the federation's ships. Okay, so maybe Metroid Prime 3 actually takes place after Metroid Fusion? But that has a lot more problems! Basically, the space pirates are supposedly dead, metroids don't really exist, and Ridley was annihalated. So that really would put a few holes in Prime 3! Here is another thing, they expect us to believe that just because Samus Aran completley destroyed the planet Zebes in Super Metroid, that all the space pirates are dead? Are you kidding me? Zebes was just a base for them! Not their homeworld! That you get to visit in Prime 3, and even then only to destroy the Phazon core. Obviously, there are more spots throughout the universe where they could be hiding out. What about K2L? They completely wiped everyone out on the planet, except for Samus, Could they not use that for a base? There is also the Omega Ridley question. Since Metroid Prime three come before Super Metroid, this is a little difficult to understand. They showed Omega Ridley completely dissolve. There was nothing left of him! So how did he come back in Super Metroid? And why is he only Meta Ridley in the Metroid Prime series? I suppose the Space Pirates could have rebuilt him...again for Super Metroid, but would they not want to make him tougher, and not back to his original?

Metroid Other M has a couple holes too. (I'm sure a lot of people will really like to jump on that!) Supposedly, at this point there are no more space pirates or metroids or whatnot. So when you go the bottleship it is a bit unexpected for me to find out that the creatures that the federation were trying to have you destroy--and even cheered and applauded when you did--are actually recreating the creatures that they had you destroy. What moron came up with that idea? But that is not what I was talking about. When they found the creatures that were the space pirates, Samus called it a Zebesian. That is not what they are! The Chozo were the original inhabitants of the planet Zebes, until the pirates took over. But here's something just on a side note. The chozo are the ones that made Samus' Power Suit, right? And also the ones who infused their DNA into Samus to make her more agile than ordinary humans? Why were they not able to hold off the pirates with their tech and fighting skills? Anyways, back to Metroid other M. So really, the Pirates are not rightfully called Zebesians, as they are little mre than foreign invaders to the planet. Here is another thing. Samus claims that the Space pirates have to have the Mother Brain lead them down the path to actually become the Space Pirates. Really? I thought that was their main ambition, universal domination. This is clearly stated in Metroid Prime 1, at this point, there was no mother brain; she did not revive until Super Metroid, and I think even then she was recreated by the pirates, because she took on a different form than before. I suppose she could have mutated, but that does not seem as likely. Even beforehand, it seems that she was actually created as an organic computer similar to the aurora units of Metroid Prime 3. It really seems to me that Mother Brain was nothing more than a tool created by the space pirates to control the metroids.

There is one more thing about the series that I really want to know. When do we get to see what happens after Metroid Fusion? Some have suggested that Metroid Fusion is the end of it all, but that just does not seem like the way to end the series. The heroine who has saved the universe and singlehandedly destroyed planets is now on the run? That is not the way to end it folks! She now has metroid Dna. Does that mean that now her grapple beam can drain the energy out of living things...like the phazon based ability in metroid prime 3? How does she react to being a fugitive. What about her "Passengers"? What of the universe? If the federation keeps meddling in things that they should not, there will surely be a lot more problems! Plus, we still have the mysterious phantoon. If he really is a ghost, as they made him out to be in Super Metroid...how did he come back. Surely, he could not have been recreated by the federation, as a ghost would not leave any cells on her power suit. Why did he come back as a full bodied creature. Why does he like to hang around deserted ships? What is this guy about? I think that perhaps there may be more to him than what meets the eye. I do not know what the future holds for the Metoid series, but I certainly hope that the makers do justice to it and even style it after Metroid Prime 3. I just thought travelling across the galaxies was a lot more fun than just one planet or ship! Anyways, I hope I did not bore you all too much, and perhaps that you even enjoyed it.

I totally agree with you! Metroid is an incredible franchise and it's definitely my number 1 gaming series of all time. The sense of lonliness, the deep story, the incredible worlds to explore, it's all too much awesome. We need a new Metroid for the 3DS, stat.
