Man, have I got a story for you. Sit tight, because you whether laugh so hard, you'll bust a rib or two, or... you'll have that " ... you've got to be joking " look.

So, little ol' thing1 is scrolling through his Facebook feed when finds THIS, a post by Yahoo about one of their articles. It would seem that a man in Ukraine is so serious about what he believed in while he is running for a political position ( parliament, if I understand it correctly ) changed his name to Darth Vader, and his personnel are dressed as Storm Troopers... He even vowed to make a Death Star to protect Ukraine. 

What do you make of this? You think this is a joke? Or do you think this guy if for real?

thing1 : I think this dude totally crazy going around there I mean really man cosplay doesn't help get you votes mate. I can't exactly say though I mean if it is a Joke he might lose some people as they will think hes somewhat odd. Vice versa as well if it wasn't a joke.

Madness. Absolute madness. I think he needs a psych evaluation. That part about "winning the war against the separatist rebels" cracked me up though, so maybe he is sane.

One other thought that I had while reading the article was - What does Darth Vader sound like in Ukrainian? So, I did some digging and was surprised to learn that today is election day in the Ukraine. Also, here is video of Vader announcing his bid for the Ukraine presidency. Would he make a good president? "You don't know the power of the dark side!"

A lot of times this does not get candidates votes. As people look at it as they are not serious. I remember in the late 1980's Bush I st's  Opponent driving around a town in a tank. He was taken as not being serious and seen as a joke candidate. In return Bush I won the 1988 election by a landslide. Also in 2004 Democratic Frontrunner Howard Dean made a speech were he howled to the crowd. His numbers dropped and lost his party's domination. I don't know how the Ukraine people will respond to this but chances are it will be seen more of a joke.

I think hes meant to be standing as the leader of the pirate party, pirate partys being advocates of abolishing piracy and copyright laws.
I dont knew if he is being symbolic with the darth vader thing, perhaps saying even the sith arent as corrupt as the govetnment; Or if he is just a lunatic.
Either way, he got almost no votes so he will have to stick to patrolling the streets.

Then after his inauguration... reveal his true identity as the sith lord, declare martial law, obtain the countries valuable resources, reconstruct the Death Star, and move on to world domination. I honestly really don't see a problem with it. 

This is another case of appearance over policy. 

When you take the former over the latter, you get broken politics. 

He should be judged more for his policies than his looks. 

If his policies are bad, don't vote for him. Plain and simple. But don't judge someone based off of their looks, even if they may appear to be a bit unusual.
