Which video game do you think could be made into a movie, or whcih one would you like to be made into a movie?

games just shouldnt be made into movies and vice versa, period.

I could possibly see the Metal Gear Solid series being made into a movie but I really don't think that games should be made into movies. The games themselves are, in a way, interactive movies. I could just imagine people in a theater watching a game turned movie & saying, 'You're low on health, use a potion!' or 'Use (insert move here)! He's weak to that element!'.

Well, I think some FPS can become made into movies because they make good for action games. Personally I thought Doom was bad ass. Didn't matter if it was a game.

Also, I made a thread about this kinda, but it was about Games already turning into movies.

I heard last year that they are making a movie for Bioshock. I think that would turn into a really good one if they do it right and also they are making a Clocktower movie based off those scary games and Mila Jovovich will be playing in that one. But I haven't see anything on for a while. Hopefully if those rumors are true that they come out soon.

i think that games shouldn't be made into movies. well except that Mortal Kombat was an AWESOME movie and so was DB Z but other than that, games = no movies

You can't say that they shouldn't but love two others that have been. You never know when one like Mortal Kombat and DB Z would happen again, I think they should take chances sometimes.

The only video game movie I liked was Resident Evil, and that was because 3/4's of the cast get killed by a f***ing laser.

If I were to make a adaption in the past, Maniac Mansion would be a pretty good pick. Cristopher Lloyd as Weird Ed, Cyndi Lauper as Razor, Michael J Fox as Dave, and a bit more.

Thouugh I've always wondered, why isn't Fast and Furious titled Need for Speed. They're a lot alike and could gain more cash at the box office.

Hmmm...Maybe Earthbound perhaps? It has alot of good storyline and chracters.

If they were ever going to do that, i'd rather have it be anime. The reason why is because the chracters have more of an anime feel to them then a live action one.

But that's just my opinion.

Now that I think about it, the Pokémon games got turned into movies. Granted the movies were more based off the animé but they were games first....I think. Did the animé or the games come first?

It started out as a video games for the Game Boy the game was known as "Pocket Monsters" in 1995. It was such a great hit it got it's own TV series in April of 1997.

Alright. I've posted in this topic at a couple of other boards in the past. People have some interesting ideas for game-movies. Metal Gear, Metriod, Tecmo Super Bowl. They're all good ones. But there is one game I ALWAYS spout out and love to get people to think about that be the greatest game-movie of all time. Not THE greatest movie, just the greatest game-movie: "Contra". The original Contra for the NES. There is now way people wouldn't have seen this one. This game had little plot and lots of action. A movie of it would be, should be, near non-stop action because all it would've entailed was shooting aliens.

What guy, what MAN doesn't like movies about people shooting countless aliens with goop flying everywhere mixed with intense explosions and jump-out-of-your-seat suprises? Yeah, this would be a movie made mainly for the male viewer. A Contra movie would have very little plot and could focus on action scenes. Lots of action scenes. It would be damn near impossible to f*** up something like this, even if a director was paid to try. A movie for this should have a side-scrolling screen or two, simply because it's the what the game movement was. To add a bonus, an FPS view (like the DOOM movie) thrown in there would be fantastic. Now here's the thing (probably right off the bat) that would've made this movie go from Legendary to Epic: casting Arnold Schwarzenneger and Stallone as Bill and Lance, respectively. gosh darn those two would have been the ultimate duo. They look almost exactly like the characters, but it's probably because the characters were based off the roles they played in their movies. No one else could play those roles.

So......Contra.

I think Far Cry 2 would make a decent movie with a good cast, director and budget. Another game Id like to see as a movie would be any one of the COD titles.

I think Contra is a good idea, I liked the only on Sega. It was bomb. You had to be flawless to beat it. Intense game.

I also like the sound of the COD titles. If they could pull off a good character background, I totally agree.

Street Fighter made a good one.

I think they should do Tekken for sure and they can make movies on different stories too. Tons of movies from their stories and one where they all combine into a tournament.

All i say is that, video games have such good of stories, they definately should try some in movies.

The games i think that could work are either Halo or one of the original Spyro games(you know, for the PS1). I love both and my sister would probably agree on Spyro.

That would be an awesome movie. What I'm imagining would probably be a little more epic than what it would be though.

I would like to see what they could do with minesweeper. if you have seen collage humors fake preview for it on youtube, then you will know what i mean.

I would like to see some Nippon Ichi preferably Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom. Also I would like to see FEAR and Project Zero (aka Fatal Frame) but only if they do it right.

I'd have to check out that OVA becasue when I was thinking of a movie made Fatal Fury was popping up but that is just an anime movie....

But I do like the FEAR idea and Fatal Frame, if they did fatal frame, they'd have to created it like Silent Hill to make it scary and it would be best in first person...to scare the Sh*t out of you. Ha.
