I know this forum hasn't been changed yet.... but it's still a fountain of knowledge, is it not?  And there's plenty knowledge to be had about cooking, so maybe we can re-purpose this forum until David has time to change it.

Alright... *rubs hands together*

Where do YOU get your favorite recipes from?  Please.. do NOT just list short answers for the sake of post+1.  Give us some information and tell us why it's your favorite place, about how it works or how you found it.... anything that can actually contribute to the conversation and not simply list arbitrary sites.  I shall provide an example.

One of my FAVORITE places to get recipes from is Food Gawker.  Not only is the site sleek and modern, it's easy to use and has tons of cool features.  Displayed like tiled photographs, each recipe is selected from various blogs and sources.  The images are all beautifully and professionally done, so even before you click on a recipe, you're probably already drooling.  Every day, dozens and dozens of new recipes are posted, too, so every time you visit, there are new pictures and recipes to see!

There is a search feature which allows you to find recipes by certain ingredients, sources, or tools... and a favorite feature which allows you to easily access recipes that catch your eyes. Furthermore, for each recipe, you are provided a ..... card (for lack of a better word)... on which you can take notes about it. So if you change the recipe or want to rate it.... whatever you want to say..... it's easily done.  You can write, browse, and save your notes without downloading anything at all.  You can also categorize foods however you wish.

I highly suggest it for anyone that likes to play around in the kitchen.

One of my favorite places to get recipes from is from the Big Green Book. Earlier this year me and my family brought a Big Green Egg Grill. We also got the cook book. It is awesome it has recipes for homemade pizza, steaks, burgers, pork chops etc. I also get recipes from a book that came with a Ninja Blender it has a lot of shake and smoothie recipes.

I don't know about the Ninja book but the Big Green Egg Cook books can be purchased at Green Egg dealers. The book has something for everyone in it.

Well...if its for baking I just normally Google it up. And if I wanted too, I go to image selection to see what type of design, that I am looking for to bake a new cake. Or to cook with...to be honest I go onto bunches of sites, and don't stay in one place. I rather do that. So then I can find what I am looking for. Instead of staying in one place, and only using that site....

There are a few places I get my recipes from.

If I want to go straight traditional I go into the recipe book card thing my mom gave me a few years ago with her recipes as well as my grandmother and great-grandmothers. You can never go wrong with family recipes in my opinion, even if I can't share them all(I'm sorry!).

Another place I go is this book that I got from Bob Johnson. It's his mother's recipe book, and I bought it when he was in town...I'm making this Chocolate Almond Pie for Thanksgiving...I'm so excited!

But online wise, I go to a few different places. I'll list them all first, before explaining them.

MyFridgeFood
CentLess Deals
Comfy Foods
Better Home and Gardens
All Recipes
Chef-In-Training

I found most of these sites by just Googling different recipes I wanted to try, and because I'm a broke college kid(haha). I love to cook, and wanted something to make other than the normal 'college kid' foods, so I started looking up recipes that weren't expensive to make, but I knew would taste good. Then there were places like All Recipes that I used to baking, and Chef-In-Training.

I get all of my recipes from my culinary arts teacher. She give us all the recipes and posts them on her website for easy access.
We measure, cook, and eat everything we make in full servings. She says our school is one of the only ones that get to do that. When she goes to teacher conventions other teachers are surprised when they find out she gets money for all of this. Other schools normally make one slightly bigger batch of food and everyone gets to sample it.
