If you ask me, we have far too few metroid games spaced too far apart. I am sitting on edge for the next metroid to come out, I've tried all the others and beat all but two. I think that says something when you consider the fact that I just discovered how much fun this series was a couple months ago! I've beat--in this order--Metroid Zero Mission (which is basically metroid 1) Metroid Prime 1, Metroid Other M, Metroid Prime 3, Metroid Prime 2, and Metroid Fusion. Honestly, after only a couple of months with a franchise older than I am, I've only missed 2? I really think we could use some more of these metroids. And I am so on edge waiting for the next one. I heard somewhere that it might not come out until the year 2016 or later. I really hope not. If you agree with me on this or have anything to add or any info on the next metroid; feel free to post it here!

I believe Retro Studios is currently working on another Metroid, and from what I've played of Zero Mission, I would love a new Metroid game. Just another reason to get a Wii U, so it sounds good to me! I just wonder what it would be about...

DrakPokeMaster : I heard retro was working on it too, and there are some theories as to what it will be. Some have said that it will be another prime game, but I thought that they had ended that series.

FaithFighter : Well, as long as it's nothing like Other M (I heard what people said about that one...) then I'm all for it. Metroid is sadly a relatively small series of games, so more in the series would be great, especially when it comes to getting more people to play through the series.

I've only played Zero Mission, but I could already tell by that game that Metroid is amazing, and we need a new game in that series right now!

DrakPokeMaster : These complaints you hear are from people that never gave it the time of day and whine about what it wasn't instead of appreciating what it was. If you've ever given it as much time to it it as I have to unlock hard mode. It's very worthwhile to play. It brings some fast paced action and more story to metroid than ever before. I personally loved it; but I also understand that I am one in a few.

FaithFighter : From what I heard, you have all the power-ups from Super Metroid, but then there's this one idiot that wont let you use them until he "allows" it. I personally find that to be annoying, and I haven't even played it. At least they tried something different though, so I'll have to hand them that. Nintendo is known for rehashing series' like Mario and Pokemon, and never really do that much to change them, so the fact that they were at least trying to make an FPS with some actually original content in it like that is good enough for me. Not saying that Metroid has ever been your typical FPS, of course.

DrakPokeMaster : Actually, Metroid other M is not an FPS. It is a 3d fast paced action game.

I totally agree with you. It's been way too long and I'm really hoping that we get a 3DS metroid game soon. Either first or third person, I don't care, we just need one. I've beaten nearly every game in the series as well and need more metroid. Did you hear about one of Nintendo's representatives wearing a metroid pin to a conference a few months ago? Perhaps he's teasing of what's to come.
