Synopsis
Nichijou roughly translates into My Ordinary Life . So you would expect this to be a pretty tame series , and and some ways you would be correct . However that is not the impression you will get after beginning this . I like to think the title is a crack at irony but it could possibly be taken in other ways .
Genre 10
Not particularly uncommon , in fact quite the opposite , this is a slice of life and a comedy all rolled up in one . The slice of life compliments the title of the series seeing as it basically is the characters every day life , in these moments though lay what many fans consider one of the greatest comedies of any anime . I am inclined to side with them in that , it is not everyone's idea of funny but it struck me with such humour that I have to rate this a 10 out of 10 .
Story 8
I probably would have never picked this up had some friends not recommended it to me , honestly . The idea of it did not really jump out at me as something I would enjoy , it seemed to random to me and that is not my humour . I was not really wrong about that in one sense , the show is very random , the scenes come out of nowhere and there is no actual story line so that is the only reason I rate it the way I do . However that is totally typical and expected of a slice of life and I did enjoy the skits . Go into this knowing it is episodic , you are not going to get any more details about something that happened the episode before because now they are onto a new topic .

This is purely my own opinion on it, I didn't enjoy the art style I feel it's a weak fall back and somewhat crude. Although the scenes themselves were nicely done and I have no complaints for them the character designs are the only thing that really get to me. I think it's suppose to be regarded as cute and I do enjoy the aspect of them trying to curb the typical anime style I didn't like where it lead them. In some moments the art gets hyper detailed which actually strikes me as very humorous and I did enjoy that. The flow of everything is also well done so my only actual complaint is something that is my own opinion and goes by a person by person basis, you may like how they're drawn.
Sound 9
This is one of those anime that always has really catchy openings , the endings are pretty nice as well but I think this one is more well known for the OP . Other than that I do not have that much to say, the back ground music as usual is fitting, though barely noticeable . The sound effects are well effective and appreciated.

I am very happy a few people recommended this to me , being one of the funniest slice of life's I have seen and one of the funniest anime I have ever seen altogether . It has brought me much joy to see this to the end and it has a decent amount of episodes to keep the fun going .

As I said , the humour is pretty random so if you do not think you would get a kick out of that then this probably is not for you . As for myself I enjoyed it a lot, I know a few friends that also thought was a highly enjoyable experience that they were all glad to have watched . So if you are looking for a good laugh then this is probably a good choice to at least give a go with .
