Well, usually, most teachers say to not leave things to the last minute, but you see, I do. The weird thing is that I work best under pressure. So, usually, I procrastinate. It helps me focus hard on my work and still get it done with good quality. So, does procrastination play a role in YOUR life?

I actually work best under pressure as well, but I'd never encourage my students to procrastinate. I'm normally just awful at it, though I've been trying to improve. I think I've been doing a pretty good job of it, and I think.... looking back, that I could have done better if I had taken my time.  Although I work better under pressure, the possibilities are always limited with time.

Sadly, it really does. I try not to procrastinate, but I have been doing it so long, it has become a part of me.

I think procrastination plays a role in everyone's life at one point or another, if not, all the time. For me it's homework and projects, boy do my teachers love to bombard me with projects when I am already up to my shoulders in homework...procrastination can be from anything like bills, work, promises, cooking or anything else....I don't intentionally procrastinate, but you can try to understand that after being loaded up with stuff to do, the motivation to do it starts to deplete....I try my best to get my stuff done and not fall prey to procrastination, but sometimes it happens and it can't be helped....but its a lot worse with a lot of the kids that are in my classes...they just love to slack off on anything and everything.

I've been watching this thread for a long time, but I just got around to answering =P

Yeah, I procrastinate all the time. "I'll get that tomorrow!" then I never get around to it. I said that I'd do my chores tomorrow 3 weeks ago. Did I actually do my chores? lolno

Pretty much all the time, I procrastinate on everything. Heck, I have an interview on Tuesday and I probably won't even print out the application and fill it out until Tuesday morning. It always happens for school, work, anything.

Hold on, I'll answer this thread tomorrow.

But for real, procrastination plays a huge role in just about everyone lives, especially mine. I tend to leave things until the last minute in all situations, no matter the level of urgency. That means school work and other stuff, but more so the former. I almost always save all school work until the last minute. However, i still get all a's. Hmm.

Um, yes definitely. I procrastinate WAY too badly on homework, usually to the point of not having enough time to do it and being an expert in what needs to be done and what doesn't matter (based on keeping the grade over 65, or based on how much I actually care). I'm procrastinating right now (math homework, but its not due 'til Tuesday, I've got plenty of time, I'm sure I'll do it Saturday, or Sunday, or Monday, or 3rd period study hall Tuesday). But I mostly procrastinate because I'm very very lazy, especially when it comes to things I don't want to do/don't care about doing.

(Thinking of it, I don't seem to know where my iPod is or those Micky D's codes I wanted post, I find those later XD).

Yeah, it pretty much does. I tend to procrastinate on projects I have to school, and sometimes with homework too. It's not because I feel better working when under pressure, it's either I got too busy and couldn't do it earlier, or I was too lazy and didn't feel like starting it. Usually, I manage to still get very good grades with the work I have for school.

I procrastinate most of the time when it comes to school work. When the professor says something along the lines "don't leave this until the last minute", that is like a signal of challenge to me. Pretty much, everyday can be made into a challenge if one procrastinates. Procrastination helps me get motivated and do and finish my work. If I tend to start my work early, I get very lazy and just wonder off doing my own business during my free time. The curse is contagious and it spreads onto everyone. Only time can help us out when it comes to situations like this.

Procrastination has always been a big factor in my life. A big negative factor. I need to work harder, I know, but still I find it hard to get things done sometimes.

For instance, I did an English III H project that I had a month to work on the night before it was due last week. ^^; well, looks like I really need to pick up the pace!

I am the living embodiment of procrastination. I will tell myself, " today's the day I will get this assignment done early" the proceed to do it the day before or in some cases the morning of the class. I once finished a 2 page paper in 45 minutes because I put it off too long. I have made a scientific presentation 25 minutes before I presented it. Procrastination is a b**** but I always fall for its tricks. I even procrastinate in playing games and enjoying sleep because of procrastination. I procrastinate to procrastinate. It has become a serious health concern and I haven't been to the doctor because I have been putting it off for a while now. It has been far longer to type this post because I have put down my computer 3 times to do something else. I am ill and there is no cure but I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Thankfully, it doesn't. I have a busy schedule nowadays and I tend to work better when I do the work right away. Whenever I start something that I've been procrastinating on and don't have much time left to do, I get really stressed out and it's usually very difficult to get it done.

I used to procrastinate all the time, though. In some years of elementary school, I almost always avoided starting a project until the night before it was due. One time, I read the entire book "Around the World in 80 Days" AND did the entire book report for it in one night (I began right after school and ended right before getting ready for bedtime), and I didn't mind it that much. Also, I did very well on it.

Procrastination has been affecting my life a lot, leaving to assignments being done at around the last few minutes. I'm trying to drop the habit, but I'll do it later.

You kidding me, I'm a professional at doing things within the last minute! Not joking, either. I even made a schedule for myself to keep me from going in the same kind of situation, yet I always procrastinate. I know it's bad for me, but I can't help it. At least I'm able to get my homework done, without having it look like "last minute work". That takes skill in order to do that. Though just a few weeks ago, my school is handing out twice the amount of homework to every student in class. Hopefully, I can get all of my work done before the 21st of this month (which is not only my mom's birthday, but also the deadline for all assignments to be submitted).

I first saw this thread but decided to take 30 minutes to watch a video on Youtube first before posting here. THAT'S how much I love procrastinating. Half of my homework are done the last minute.

To quote, "Why procrastinate today? Do it tomorrow!"

I don't think that there has been I time, where I've ever not procrastinated. I had two essays due awhile ago, and I didn't start on neither of them until the morning they were due. I still got A's on them, but that isn't really the point. I do think that my highest priority is doing nothing of important value, including lying down all day until I absolutely have to get up and do something. If I could lie down and do nothing, and get paid for that, I would enjoy not accepting the money that I get paid.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
