Like I said, my house is dirty as can be. And our family just can't figure out what to do. I should be grateful- I have a loving family, a fairly large home, a nice, friendly, community, and a father with a steady job. But this house just throws that all down the drain. It's so dirty. I'd send you pictures, but I can't do that right now. My mom and dad try a lot, but they each have their problems. So do me, my twin brother, and my little sister.
My mom can't ever focus on one thing while cleaning by herself and doesn't finish what she started, but does when working with others. My dad is great when cleaning by himself, but finds himself irritated when working with others. Me and my brother (mostly me) clean okay when we have to, but my little sister leaves everything around and tries to get away from cleaning by going outside and playing with friends. We really need help. We successfully clean the bottom floor one day, then the next we just stop and within a week the whole house is dirty again. We clean through the monster of a laundry room and within 2 weeks it's filled with clothes again. We just can't keep anything clean!!!!! And then there's the basement. There's so many boxes and crap down there, and We probably haven't touched 4/5 of the stuff in a year. And we can't clean it out because it's already too dirty on the first floor!!! And we can't have a garage sale to get rid of the stuff because the freaking garage is too full!!!!!!
Also, that's another huge reason why everything is so dirty. We have too much stuff. My mom wants to donate it (which would be the better option but would take more time, effort, and space), and my dad just wants to throw most of it out (which would be a lot quicker and easier, but wouldn't be a very good choice). PLEASE help us . Do you guys have any tips for how to keep your house clean, or just clean it? Or any systems just to help? I really need some advice here . My mom and dad hate the place because of the dirtiness. It's also one of the causes of my dad's stress and my mom's depression. We've tried repeatedly to have family meetings and to make a plan. It never works in the end. Please help. I don't know who else to go to.?

Also, we're a little bit lower on money right now than usual

well, I do think donating really is the best option in your situation. maybe throw out the things that no one would really need or want. what my family did was we got rid of all the things we didn't want, then we hired people to the house for us, since we're so terrible at doing it ourselves. I think you should do that, but of course, it costs money, so i dunno. it's just an idea, though.

I'd go crazy if my house wasnt organized.
Why do you guys have a lot of dirt in the first place? I suggest making sure everyone cleans up after themselves to avoid everything. Also make sure your parents do the laundry almost every day.
Also you can always have a "yard" sale. If you set aside one day to clean the garrage and basement you wont have to worry about it for a few years. Laziness seems to be your family's worst enemy

earthwarrior : It's not dirt. I suppose I should've reworded it. It's just there's a bunch of stuff everywhere. From glue bottles, to cleaning supplies, to papers, to napkins, to wrappers, to goggles. Most of it isn't dirt.

The tough part with this is finding a starting point.  You should fill up a box once a week for donation.  Fill another box once a week for trash.  Go through your room first and get rid of everything you haven't used in the past six months.  End of story.  Trash it, unless it's a winter/summer thing, and get rid of it.  make your room a tidy, clean place.  As long as you can start getting rid of stuff, you'll succeed.  I have a clean house because we get rid of stuff every year.  Don't hold on to anything you don't have to have.  Just toss the stuff and forget about it.

Once you hit your room, you can focus on other stuff.  Get that one room first.  It'll seem better if something shows you what the work can do.
