Lately, I have been stepping out of my comfort zone a lot, and tonight I went through one of the most amazing and nerve-wracking events of my life. My first time going to a football game. Why was it nerve-wracking? I'll explain it all.

One of the JROTC instructors told my class that there's a football game today several hours after school and he wants us all to come and see our first football game as freshmen. I didn't see any of the people in my class there, but there probably were, even though my class is the laziest.

I arrived for the game around a half hour late because my mom had to find out when it started, and by the time she did, it had already done so. I hurriedly got ready and speedwalked to my mom's car. I was so pumped because it was my first football game and I knew that someone I know was going to be there, not expecting me to show up.

The field was so crowded, so it was really hard for me to see anyone I was looking for. I thought I wasn't gonna find anyone (even Joe, a former player of my school's football team), even though I knew that someone I knew was there, and then she walked up to me. It was Audrey. (I know I talk about her A LOT XD, but I can't say much about my other friends because they don't do as much special stuff with me. She's my best friend and she happens to be a girl. I would be constantly talking about special events with my best friend if he was a guy, too ) Then my mom found my friend Isaac's parents a few rows away. I said, "Oh, wow!" and then my mom asked me if I want her to sit with Isaac's parents and me to sit with Audrey.

So, I sat with Audrey and her friend I don't know, and my mom sat with my friend Isaac's parents. I noticed that it was close to halftime. I was mad that I missed almost the entire first half of the game, but I was still very happy to be there and finally start supporting my school's awesome football team.

I wasn't paying much attention to the game the whole time, and neither was Audrey (I don't think my mom did either XD). Audrey is always chatting with someone, (unless she's sleeping) so it wasn't surprising at all. A lot of the time, I don't have anything I want to say, so I'm not always chatting with people. So most of the time she was talking to her other friend. And of course her other friend is a girl. XD When they ran out of things to say, she turned to me and said, "Sooooo..." and I finally started having a conversation with her. I somehow managed to come up with something to talk about.

Shortly after, I saw this weird mist-like stuff blowing sideways and felt a lot of wind. It was rain, and a bad storm was headed our way. Everyone was asked to go to the Field House (Gym) ASAP, and the game was canceled. My school's team was dominating 28-0 when that happened. -___-

Since my mom was a few rows away, I just followed Audrey into the gym. Some people were already riding home, and I couldn't find anyone else to talk to besides her friend, who I had nothing to say to. -__- I called my mom and told her that I was in the gym. I couldn't hear a word she was saying, so I kept yelling and told her to text me her response. XD Then Audrey used my phone to call her mom because she couldn't on hers. (Which, by the way, has a screen that's entirely cracked because she dropped it. But she can still see what I text her.)

She told me that her biggest fear is bad weather, so I became more scared. I was more scared for her than I was for myself! I told her that, and a few minutes later my mom came into the gym, I stood up, and waved my hand in the air shouting. It was awkward and embarrassing, but I was too scared and grateful to care. I decided to talk to my dad (via phone call) because he knew what was going on, then my mom, then Audrey again, then her friend because she misheard something I said. All of us were in the building for over half an hour, and then Audrey's mom came to take her home early. My mom, however, decided to wait another 30+ minutes. I was sad and bored because I had no friends to talk to.

I then had an idea. I texted Audrey "I really wish I could help, and I have no one to talk to here..." She said she was sorry and she asked for my mom's cell phone number since her mom wanted it. Finally, several minutes later, my mom thought it was safe enough for us to leave. Before we got home, Audrey's mom texted my mom, "Audrey said she felt much better when you were sitting with her." Then I thought of how crappy my experience would've been if Audrey wasn't there, and I was very grateful. She had to go, so what I typed into my phone will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm going to thank her for going to the game and tell her I would've had a horrible experience and I would've been much more scared if she wasn't there.

That story may have had you thinking I wasn't having fun, but I was when I was talking to people and I wasn't really scared. Also, I'm grateful that this happened, because it has made me more grateful for my life, friends, and family, I finally got to hang out with Audrey again, and it has given me some great safety practice for when I have to face emergency storm situations.

I have changed so much in the past few weeks, I feel as if some people might find it surprising that I'm PacmanandMariofan. But I'm pretty sure everyone believes that it really is me.

Boxia : I said I was gonna give you an update, so I might as well summon you to this thread.

Cool! I can't remember the last time i saw a football game, but my High School has a really good Football team, so it won't hurt to go once i guess.
It's good that you had fun. That's really important.

There's been a lot of stuff going down lately. Thread inbound.

Awesome! Our school doesn't have any football games. But every year there is a big tournament where the four oldest schools of the Netherlands compete (including my school!) and that's always one of the main events that year. What kind of phone does Audrey have? If it's an Iphone or a Samsung, I've heard those break easily. I have a Huawei myself and although I've dropped it 2-3 times it still works. I hope the next time the weather won't be so bad.

Boxia : Yeah, you should try it.

thing1 : It hasn't even been a year yet... and all my other friends don't do any special events with me usually so I typically don't have stuff to say about them. -___- She started going to the same school as me last year. When Derek was my best friend I had as much to say about him. I plan on going to special events with my other friends a lot in the future, so I can finally start talking about them a lot too and having more memorable experiences with them. Shoot, I forgot to post about my first MLB baseball game that happened last month. Oh well, I'm probably going to go to another one with Derek sometime in the next year.

juuldude : She has an iPhone 4. Samsung phones break easily? Dang it, and I wanted to get a Samsung Galaxy if my phone stopped working for everything. I've accidentally dropped my phone on hard ground/floor many times and I haven't seen any damage on it except minor scratches on the screen.

The next time is today at 2 PM. XD The game will continue. We're supposed to get more rain here today. -____- But the weather won't be so bad. The storm lasted a long time; it was still going strong when I made this thread, which was around 3 hours after the storm started!

Pacman... when are you going to ask the girl out. When she turns to you, and goes " Sooooo.... " , or when she asks if you want to sit with her... that probably means she likes you, and is waiting for you to make a move.

PacmanandMariofan : Well, that's what I've heard. But I've heard Samsungs are also stronger than Iphones. :O

A few days ago we had a lot of rain for some days as well. But now it doesn't rain so much anymore (although it's cold here). I hope your school will win as they were in the lead

thing1 : Actually, that's not the case. I'm pretty sure she does like me, but almost the entire time I've known her, she's been in a relationship, and it's always the guys asking her out. She just wants to be friends with me, and I just want to be friends with her. I'm not ready for a relationship yet, which is why I've been trying to get to hang out with girls a lot. You were the one that, in one of my threads, said I should focus on getting a good Grade Point Average, and getting as many credits as I can for the first couple years of high school, and that's what I'm gonna do unless a girl asks me out and my parents are OK with it. Also, she didn't ask me to sit with her; my mom asked me if I wanted to sit with her and have my mom sit with my friend Isaac's parents.

One time, we were in school, and I asked Audrey if she would like to go bowling with me sometime, she said yeah, and we ran out of time to talk, so later I told her I'm just trying to be able to hang out with her outside of school, and that I hoped she didn't get the wrong idea. She said it's OK and wanted to start planning it soon after. I've always been super careful when I'm talking to girls, and I think way before I did that I made it obvious that I was just being friendly to her. Also, she has made it obvious that she doesn't want to be in a relationship with me. When we were setting up the bowling hangout, she said she'd have to bring her friend Hailey along so her mom didn't get the wrong idea. Every time we hang out, excluding in class (which can't happen this year, same with some of my other friends -___-) she has to bring one of her girl friends (SEE DAT SPACE) along with her. Yesterday, it was a coincidence that she did because I didn't know if I was going or not, so I didn't say anything, making it a surprise that I showed up.

She said "Sooooo.." because she just wanted to talk since we were both bored.

juuldude : Awesome! I've always preferred Samsungs over iPhones. There wasn't any rain today Later in the post, I'll say what the final score was.

I called Joe and Audrey today, and they both told me they weren't going to the game. Joe said it was because he had to "babysit" his stupid brother. His brother really is stupid, and annoying, and so freaking popular. Poor Joe is smarter than me, and barely annoying (he's only annoying when he's not making much sense or being Captain Obvious), but he's unpopular. I am too, but a lot of people talk to me a little once in a while. Usually asking questions like "Can I borrow some paper?" Wut. XD On Joe's birthday, his brother didn't give a crap, and he just wanted to be a lazy-butt all day.

I looked all over the Home side of the stadium (the side with the fans of the home team), which contained a lot of people. I thought, I don't think I'm going to find anybody I know, but if they can see my face, people will sure be able to find me. I'm wearing rainbow. XD I was right, and my mom and I were both desperately looking for people to sit with. We couldn't, so we sat alone. Several minutes later, my mom's friend that caused her to get her job came up to us and sat with us. He talked to her and I a lot. My mom and I couldn't see the game without our eyes hurting so much, so I went up to the rail so I could see better. My mom decided to stay back in the bleachers and talk to her friend. I could finally see exactly what was going on, so I got excited. The game resumed today in the 4th quarter, so I wasn't even there an hour. My school's team won, of course. 42-6. Their opponent barely scored a touchdown. No one else ever found us and sat with us, or found me and stood near me. Unless someone was secretly always wherever I didn't look the whole time.

That was very fun, but not as fun as last night since none of my friends were there with me. Next Friday, there's another football game at my school, so I have another chance in less than a week to go to a football game with a friend/friends. ^^

That was very fun, but not as fun as last night since none of my friends were there with me. Next Friday, there's another football game at my school, so I have another chance in less than a week to go to a football game with a friend/friends. ^^
