I see. well, just in case you were wondering, I voted Lutheran. I don't actually go to Lutheran church right now, but when I get older, like when I'm looking for a church to go to every once in a while during college, I will be searching for a Lutheran church.

They are similar in a way that some people debate whether they are real Christians. Some people views those two denominations as cults.

Overall you are correct. However they actually do share something in common in terms of beliefs; they are both non-trinitarian (they reject the doctrine of the Holy Trinity).

so? if that is the only similarity then they should not be listed together.

and there are lots of members of the groups you listed that aren't actually trinitarian because the Trinity isn't Biblical.

Actually, the only non-trinitarian denominations are Mormon, Jehovah Witness, Unitarian, Oneness Pentecostal and Christadelphian.

that's not what I said.

"and there are lots of members of the groups you listed that aren't actually trinitarian"

just because someone labels themselves one way doesn't mean they agree with 100% of what that church teaches.

Well, that's a pretty good point. But I honestly don't know anybody Christian who isn't trinitarian, everyone I know has no problem accepting the doctrine of the Holy Trinity. And aren't you going to pick a poll choice?

Regardless, I think I will edit the poll actually. You have had a good point, the only choices that should be grouped are Anglicans and Episcopalians (Episcopalian is just an American Anglican) and Calvinist and Presbyterians (Presbyterian is a Calvinist sect).

I'm the only Lutheran I know (my sister prefers episcopalian service, I don't know what my parents believe). But yes, I don't know anybody non-trinitarian.

Regardless, if you would like, you may mention what denomination you are if you select "other".

I'm Mormon. You're too new to know that but most of the more "veteran" members already know that.

Wow, how interesting, the person I want to be president if he runs in 2012 is Mormon. This is getting off topic, but Mitt Romney brought Massachusetts back to revenue, so I feel that he would've been great in the last election.

Nevertheless, I apologize if I offended you by mentioning that there are people who view Mormonism as a cult, I was just stating fact, I didn't mean to sound critical. I respect your beliefs.

well.... by definition all religions are cults, but I understand what it means coming from a Christian perspective.

As for Romney.... I'm just not 100% sure he'd get enough support to win. I'd be interested to see what a Mormon in the white house would be like and I think he's a smart guy but I just think too many Christians have a problem with the fact that he's Mormon. I personally don't think religion should be a topic of discussion about a president but it seems like there is little about a president we're not allowed to know or question anymore.

Yeah, unfortunately some people care to much about how Romney is a Mormon. Apparently, some people in Congress think he should have been the nominee though.

well.... it seemed like last election cycle there was too much emphasis on the religions of the candidates. There is a big difference between writing down "Christian" on a form and actually acting like one. Most politicians that claim to be Christian might want to remember what being a Christian is about before they continue claiming to be ones.

I classify my self as non denomination because We embrace the whole grace thing, which means we have the privilege to be saved, but we didn't do anything to earn salvation it was put here out of absolute grace and mercy.

I have actually looked into other denominations. I don't feel that is required for one to follow a denomination; rather, I am just looking for one that fits my belief set. In reality, I really should have chosen non-denominational.
