D is for Despicable Me, I enjoyed the first movie, but I started to not care for the sequels and spinoffs that followed. The main reason for that is because of the minions. Those things are so annoying in my opinion. I don't know if I'm the only one who feels that way but those things drive me nuts. I could at least bear them in the first movie, but not after that. Anyway, it was the movie that put Illumination on the map.

I is for Interstellar, a movie which will likely remain my favorite sci-fi dystopian space movie. I haven't seen too many of Christopher Nolan's movies, but while the ones I've seen have been excellent, I think he really knocked it out of the park with Interstellar. The fascinating subject matter of space and time travel combined with the masterpiece soundtrack that perfectly embodies both the vastness of space and humanity's smallness made this one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time. Can't believe this movie came out 11 years ago now...

K is for Kong: Skull Island, which came out in 2017 (honestly doesn't even feel like it came out that long ago). While I've never seen every King Kong movie, I appreciated that Kong was an absolute savage in this one and didn't perish in the end. I think I still like the King Kong movie from 2005 a little more, Skull Island is not far behind.
