Hmm... The first shining Pokemon I encountered was probally the Red Gyarados in Pokemon Silver.
I believe I caught it. Though maybe that particular one shouldn't count as anyone can get that one.

The only one I ever even saw was the Red Gyarados. I wasn't even aware that there were others that were different colors until I saw this thread and googled it lol.

And then my brother went and caught a shiny geodude his first save game on Pearl, after only like two games on FireRed! I was soooo jealous!
