I have one month before my collage course starts so my family decides that we should go to America and experience as many opportunity as possible, so here I am sitting in one of the many hotels in New York (yes I'm there already) and posting this thread to you all.
Any place I should visit there?

Don't, please don't think New York City embodies the United States.  America isn't New York City and it's not Los Angeles.  It is a tiny part of a massive country that is culturally, religiously, economically, etc, diverse.
I recommend if possible:

Go see a baseball game, either the Yankees or the Mets.  Baseball is extremely American, even if the good players are Latino and Japanese.  Go get a ride on the subway and see all the different kinds of homo sapiens that exist.
Go see the 9/11 World Trade Center memorial.
Outside of that, you'll find things to do.  Again, New York is the exception of the U.S., not the rule.  It isn't like that in 95% of the rest of the country.  Big cities like Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and L.A. have different feels to them and nothing is like New York.

Have fun!

Yeah, America is so. . . SO diverse that one city could hardly ever embody it. I would agree with Warmaker here. I don't know much about New York, but you haven't experienced America until you've had and AWESOME hamburger from one of those professional restaurants!

So, try one out for me while you're there! :3

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

I would say go to Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana areas if you want cultural enrichment. lol But there are a lot of wonderful parks in Arkansas. The forests are something to see this time of year. Except for the heat.

Different kind of homo sapiens? Lol! But yea you're damn right about it, other than Americans I see French people, Egyptians, Arabs, Japanese, Chinese, etc.
But I'm not the one who's in control of the vacation here, my father is (btw I've been to Chicago before....like....8 years ago)
Sword legion :
Haha, alright I'll be sure to buy you a burger from Mc' Donald  for you
apeman :
Sadly, my our plans did not include Arkansas, and like I said before, my father is in charge of the vacation here.

I think you should visit Washington D.C. because there's a lot of major things to see, for example, the U.S. Capitol building and there are really nice hotels there. Also, I think you should visit South Carolina because there are many ice cream places there and a few very nice beaches.

*Update on my vacation*

Just finished shopping at new york (mainly on outlet, damn that place is something) then went on a 2 hour trip to a place called Hartford. So far we didn't do much except for shopping more here and there. I'll post what happens after a week.

I played at Cooperstown (baseball tournament) in New York. That was extremely fun and I second the notion of watching a game.
Also check out:
- The Statue of Liberty
- Any festivals ( here are some music festivals: http://www.musicfestivaljunkies.com/festival-guide/new-york/ )
- Although there is a lot to do in the city, don't forget to drive out into New York (the state) and look at it's country side. It's beautiful
- It can be fun to walk around and listen to street performers and look at its community diversity also

Like other people said, don't believe for a second new yorker's are like all Americans. They can be rude and pushy (as they live in a huge city), but be tolerant. Watch out for pick pick-pocketers on the street or in the subway too.
Don't forget though,
HAVE FUN IN AMERICA!!!!

*Update on my vacation*
***************************

I went to a place called Six Flags in Hartford, the rides there are great although I prefer a more gentle one.
And there are like....too many restaurants that serves pizza in there, yummy.

And then we went to a place called Franklin (I think I spelled that right), been there for a day so I don't have much to talk about it.
