Way back many years ago I did skip a grade in a way because for the first half of the year I was in the 4th grade and for the 2nd half of the year I was in the 5th grade. All I had to do was tell the tachers I was supposed to be in the 5th grade and they moved me back up to it.

mohammedroxx3 : That wouldn't really count as skipping a grade since nobody is required to go to preschool. My wife is a kindergarten teacher, and she has had tons of kids who didn't go to preschool simply because their parents didn't put them in there since it wasn't required.

Does Kindergarten count? If Kindergarten counts, then I skipped Kindergarten. I was 6 years old, and apparently, my reading level was already a 1st Grade reading level, so yeah. I was 6, so I was already old enough to go to 1st Grade anyways.

Nope, I've never been good enough at school to skip any class, or grade. It's sad, but not really odd. I have okay grades, but I think I would need to be a B+ student to actually skip a grade.

I haven't skipped a grade. I don't think that the teachers are allowed to do that (maybe not the teachers, but maybe the principal). Something about other students may feel bad, it might make others jealous (if they cared that much they would follow the same steps to skip a grade). I don't know of anyone who's skipped a grade, but I do know someone who was in the grade level above their's reading class. I am a very good student, being in the gifted class, but I'm not sure how you can qualify to skip a grade. I'm not the youngest in my grade, so I might still qualify depending on what you have to do.

I am the youngest in my class and did not go to day care or pre schools. My reading level is high but have a little trouble with math sometimes. I still have all A plus on my report card even with math trouble. I would not want to leave my class but  do have some older friends.
