At the moment for me it's Sony on first as they have good franchises and great third party support and with Nintendo a close second as they have great franchises but seem to have trouble attracting third parties to the Wii U.  As far as Microsoft on third place goes they really seem to focus and depend more on exclusives from third party developers instead of trying to build up franchises of their own and as great as I think Halo is - it may not be enough to carry the Xbox brand and it seems like that is the only big gun that they have.

Nintendo of course! Yes, they don't have the best console on the market right now, but they still have some of the best franchises on their systems (retro or modern). I've been playing a lot more PC games lately but I'm still a Nintendo guy in general .

I;m not surprised Nintendo is winning on here
and while I absolutely love Nintendo, I do,
I feel they are loosing touch with what gamers want.

While I appreciate hat they are trying to do something different than the other systems
it just seems like innovation for innovations sake.

That little pad on the WII-U serves no purpose whatsoever
and the 3D function on the 3DS is simply a gimmick that I don't feel was well done well
And don't get me started on third party relations

Not to mention Nintendos crusade against youtube,
taking down let's plays and the like, has started to make me loose a lot of respect for Nintendo

I remember when Nintendo set the bar for gaming, when they constantly brought new ideas
Now they just keep releasing basically the same games over and over
And while the systems are changing, they aren't exactly improving.

So, long story short, I vote Sony

I couldn't start to focus on the question until about 3-4 sentences.

What are yo talking about?

Make it clear.

While the past two years have been bad for Nintendo, it is still my overall favorite.

My favorite game series is The Legend of Zelda. I also like Mario, Fire Emblem, and Super Smash Brothers. There are very few "Sony" games that I like, and most games that I want that aren't on a Nintendo console, I play on my gaming PC.

Also, the end of this year and into 2015 will be awesome for Nintendo. I can't wait for Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Brothers, and Zelda.

I only have the Wii, but I do like the 360 form Xbox, and I have played a few games on the PS2 and 3 but I don't really like the controller that much. They don't have the best design for my hands, it doesn't feel comfortable. I like the Wii, but it doesn't have smooth controls, whereas the Xbox 360 does.

Depends on what aspect of the companies we're looking at. Games? Nintendo, probably. Consoles? Microsoft. Everything else? Sony. Sony makes it easy to enjoy their systems, while Microsoft makes it more expensive to enjoy their slightly superior interface. Nintendo generally does well with their games. I find that most of their games are more pick-up-and-put-down, but I still enjoy them.

Honestly?
I Favour None of them.
I have had my taste of each and I am currently not very impressed.

I Loved Nintendo Back In The 1980's.
I Loved Sony Back In The 1990's.
I Enjoyed Microsoft in the early 2000's.

Today?
Not so much any more.

The one advantage they all had in the years I just mentioned above was the fact that I did not need to download patches to fix something, or buy extra parts and programs for my game playing device to function properly.
Today?
I might as well go "P.C." all the way.
It never took me a good weekend of buying extras and parts to play a game in the past.
Today?
Its almost the equivalent of buying parts and installing them on a used car to get the thing to be functional.
Plus
If I have to update every five years from one console to the next?
Why bother with a console at all?

Just a thought.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

I can't really give a full opinion about this considering I only own the PS4 out of all other companies. Though the problem is that my PS4 is collecting dust and I seem to keep going back in generations like the PS3, PS2 or even the N64.

Though the WII U looks promising has a ton of games to pick from (PS4 seems to have a little to many sports games) and Xbox One seems to be the same as the PS4.

I really have never been a fan of the Play Station, and, although I LOOVE the XBox One, Nintendo is just beat all. With new games like Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, and the re-release of Earthbound, it's just cant be stopped.

TheFadedWarrior : I know what you mean. I've seen probably three different versions of this thread by now, but the old ones always seem to vanish. Oh well, I guess this is just something gamer's always have to do (discuss which system is superior), and heck, I'll take a whack at this myself...for like the third time. lol And at least the others are old and hidden by now (I think).

baileyface544 : I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on Nintendo's current situation. They've been losing touch with gamers for the past two generations. They were blinded by the success of the Wii, and just began assuming that was all they needed. And who could blame them? The Gamecube (despite being their best or second best console imo) was their worst selling home console, then the next generation the Wii was the best selling console period. With that drastic of a change, it would be beyond easy to be blinded to the truth of what gamers want.

The truth is the vast majority of the sales of the Wii happened early in it's life span when it was a new idea (so called Motion Control) and the system was being paraded around on every popular sitcom and even in newspaper articles. Once people really saw what it was about, sales began dying down, but Nintendo missed that fact.

Then they didn't even try with the 3ds. They recycled the name and the system and slapped a steroscopic 3D feature on it and charged us all over again. Their new systems are probably a blast, and I plan on getting them eventually, but they are far from creative. And even their ex-head of Indie relations said the Wii U's gamepad had yet to justify the price.

And now they want to take away a staple of the modern game industry (LP's and YT videos) while Microsoft and Sony actually implement features in their consoles to encourage streaming and YT video making? Clearly Nintendo needs to either clear their heads and get in touch with their fans, or fire their current team and hire in some new blood who are up to speed with the times before they self-destruct.

mrfe : I love what you said there, and agree with most of it in many ways. It's good to see someone who isn't going on and on fanboy style like people on most other sites are "My console company is better than your's in every way because their name is XYZ".

AWESOMEGUY123 - Actually, some companies are giving up on Nintendo systems for their "Mature" games as they say there isn't a lot of support for them on the Wii U. Ubisoft is one of those companies. They say those kinds of gamers don't typically own a Wii U supposedly. Whether that's true or not, I can't say for sure, but I think they're sterotyping Wii U owners and doing a poor job of understanding them.

Wow that was a long intro to my vote. lol So first off, everyone knows what I voted for before I even say it. Still, I have to say that I have changed my tune a lot lately. Frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of the fanboys (and girls ) arguing over which system is the best. It's immature and pointless. And no, there is no right or wrong answer to this question.

To me, Sony is far and away the best currently, and not just because I'm an avid Sony fan. I'd be willing to admit if I thought they weren't doing the best, but currently I personally think they are. Now on the other hand, greenluigi for example would say it's no contest and Nintendo is blowing away their competition in every way. Who's right? We both are.

See, it's all a matter of opinion, and which features and approaches to gaming a person likes best, hence the fanboy wars (seriously, physically attacking and endangering Sony employees?), and despite the unfortunate result of extreme fanboyism, I appreciate the differences of opinions. It's the only reason the good aspects of the industry are what they are: Competition.

Oh, and Nintendo --while in my opinion, inferior to Sony-- can't be replaced. They have too many good series and their style is just great imo. Still, I vote Sony for winner by far this gen.

So In the end, I vote for Sony as they simply have no real competition currently as I see it, but at the same time, I'm no longer going to say the PS4 is the best system, because it's a pointless argument with no right answer. And to be clear, I don't see this thread as one of those immature and pointless arguements, as it asks for "opinions" not a definite answer.

I'm going to have to go with sony, I love nintendo to death but I feel as if that they're slipping and I haven't been impressed lately. They haven't really been focusing on the fans and they feel more money hungry than before. They kind of lost that magical touch that left fans wanting for more. I remember as a kid being moved to tears upon seeing the trailer of super smash brothers mele. The twilight princess reveal gave me goosebumps and it was just magical, at least to me it was. As for sony, I grew up with it, my step dad plays Soccom and Madden Nfl so I'm used to playing sony games. To be honest I only got an xbox 360 for fable 2 and 3 and skyrim so it's definitely not my favorite console.

I'm saying Microsoft, but that is only because I know the PCs better, not to mention I like the game Age of Empires, which is a Microsoft game. I like the controls of the 360, although I don't own one. Also I think that we should still give the Xbox One a chance, after all, they have made some changes lately.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
