jakob12341 : you can get permission by doing this type of thread from the Global Mods. If they said that you could do one, in the thread, say that you had permission from the mod

I just want to add that it's unlikely you will get one.  Ask Anythings aren't handed out to just anyone, because then there would be too many of them. Usually, Ask Anything threads are reserved for well known users, users who have made a lot of contributions to the site, rented forum owners, or people who have exhibited expertise at something.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but I do think that should be known.  It never hurts to ask, though.

jakob12341 : For rented forums, you don't need global permission, but you need permission form the forum mode, and you would also need a strict topic.

I'll close this now, since the original question has been answered.

But just to fill in your curiosity, rented forums are those forums you see on the Vizzed index page located at the bottom, before the Trash Can and Treasure Can. Those forums are run by (usually) non-staff members.

Think of it this way: renting a forum is like renting an apartment space. It's still a part of Vizzed that you get to own, but you can control how you run it. There's a fee that you have to pay in order to rent a forum, but it's a one-time payment instead of a monthly one.

Currently, no rented forums are available through David right now. If you want to own a rented forum, you would have to make a deal with current rented forum owners to buy out their forum. They're typically expensive, especially now, costing probably 10x the amount they were originally for. I think the highest I've seen sold was around 600,000 Viz.

If you are an owner of a rented forum, you don't need permission to make an Ask Anything thread in that forum. If you aren't, then you need permission from the rented forum owner(s) in order to do so.
