I really love Pokémon.  It's a really good strategic game, and you can really see how it has progressed over time since the releases of RED, BLUE, and YELLOW (also GREEN if you've played the Japanese version).  Then there's always the constant development of new Pokémon.  I'm a fire-type lover by the way.  Charmander, Cyndequil, Chimchar, and Fennekin being my favorite starters. 
The only downside really is that, even though the graphics are improving, I feel like as much as they grow they should be A LOT better than what they are.
Maybe it's just me.

I suppose the graphics as they get better, the feel of when they grow gets better as well. I don't think it's just you, it's just progression from one generation to next.

You know what struck me about the graphic progression?  I actually watched my little sister play Pokémon games on the Gameboy Advance when I was a young teenager.  After that, however, I never saw the games or really messed around with handhelds. About a year ago, I decided to get a 3DS and Pokémon White 2. I hadn't kept up with games or progress in the gaming world... nor did I have any gaming friends.

Imagine my shock after nearly a decade!  To me, the change was phenomenal!!!  Maybe your perspective is simply due to the fact that you saw the changes slowly occur.

I had not really gotten to the DS versions of the game I've really only seen the older versions so I'm sure the changes with the DS are drastic.

I never paid TOO much attention to the graphics, but I must say, X and Y looked very great. Despite its flaws, the 3D design and models were amazing, in my opinion. Compared to past DS games where it was pseudo-3D, this was a nice graphical update.
