Say your team wins a Superbowl, a World Series, or whatever championship in their league but they did it by cheating.  They did it with either steroid use, cheating within rules, or someone faking their way to victory.

Everyone knows it but there are no repercussions.

Are you okay with that?

I take it this is in reference to the college football program guy talking about it and it being on ESPN yesterday? ( Can't remember who he was or what conference.... I do not do college football ). If so, I will continue. 

Yeah, I think it is crap. I am totally against it. I will give you 2 examples. The New Orleans Saints Bounty Program and New England Patriots Spygate, or whatever they called it. Main reason why I do not like those 2 teams, let alone have any respect for them, especially the Patriots. I am totally against this, and something really should be done in the N C A A about this.

Well with steroid use it would be hard to punish the team for what a few did. However if  it was every member of the team I would not be okay with that. I would not feel like my team earned it if they cheated rather steroids, spying, or other cheating ways. I believe in playing the game the right with integrity and with hard work as well as effort. If you play the game right, work hard and have good effort than when you win it is worthy. Even if my #1 team cheated I would not be okay with it.

I'm actually surprised that there is a response in the positive at all for this (the post above).  When I read the question, I was thinking "Who in the world would be okay with that?" LOL!  It's actually pretty interesting to see that there IS someone who would be okay with it! 

I'm not into sports by any means and didn't grow up even being aware of sports championships.  Regardless, I can't really say that I'd be okay with a team cheating..... whether they were my favorite team or most hated.  To me, there's just no honor or respect in doing so.

If my Falcons won the Super Bowl, but I later found out that Julio Jones and Matt Ryan were taking PEDs, I would still root for the Falcons, but I simply wouldn't like the players cheating. I'd burn both of my jerseys, and I would beg the Falcons to either get rid of them or find replacements. Its absolutely not acceptable, but I wouldn't stop rooting for my team. I would take the Super Bowl ring, but there should be an asterisk or something on it. I think you should fine the athlete for doing it once, and then if they get caught again, ban them from the league. Like I said, its totally unacceptable.

I would not be okay with that. You have to win fair and square, there's no point in cheating. No matter who would do that I would never accept it. You win because you have trained a lot together, not because you use something that makes it easy to win.

If you're going to win something by cheating then you don't deserve to win it as you've not done it in accordance to fair play, you're just proving that you need to use underhanded tactics to get what you want and that you're not that good to begin with.

Those who do cheat shouldn't be allowed to partake in whatever they're doing; Olympic atheletes have been banned for years when found guilty of taking performance-increasing steroids, so the same should happen to sporting teams.

The problem is it can take years for someone to admit that they cheated. . . also, it takes time, a lot of time to redo something, plus it doesn't help if it takes 6 months to prove that someone cheated.

However, I know nothing about how hard, or easy it is to catch a cheater in the first place. . .

I wouldn't be okay with that at all. I would feel uncomfortable and guilty about that. Besides, it is better to lose a fair game to a team that has earned their win rather than cheat to win an easy game.
