I know a lot of us on here has this same issue with our jobs stressing us out, it's really a part of life. I have got this way as well. Like for an example, for the past few weeks, I have been on an irregular work schedule (which should end this week), and it has got me all stressed out, like a lot more attitude, and lot less on here than normal (although it won't last though which is good).

What about you, at your job, does it really stress you out a whole lot or it's not really a problem with you?

Of course everyone has been stressed out at their job at one time or another. I'm in retail, and I have to deal with new customers just about every day. Even though most them are nice people, every once in a while you get that customer that walks in your shop, and wants to walk out with something free. If you have a good enough relationship with your owner (which I do), then you don't have to worry about customers like that because your owner will know what is really going on. The worst that will happen is you give the mad customer your owner's number and he gives you a call back and says "Don't worry about it."

But I try to make EVERY customer happy. I know that's next to impossible, but I try to make it happen. And when somebody walks out of my store dissatisfied, I can't stand it and it ruins my whole day. Its something I have to work on.

When I was on my internship, hell yeah!

I had to work as a kitchen assistant during school days, like an hour or two after school ended. My gosh, it was so exhausting. That's like 8 hours in school and 4 hours interning, not including transportation time or preparing myself either. What's worse is that my co-workers expected me to keep moving around and do something in the very tiny kitchen, whether it be prepping or cleaning, but it was so tiring that sometimes I didn't think what I was doing. I ended up making a lot of mistakes that way.

If you try to overload yourself with a lot of information when you're brain isn't functioning at its fullest, well...most of the information wouldn't stick. I learned that the hard way.

At least with my experience, I'm very sure that I don't want to be in the culinary workplace anymore. But if the time comes when I need to do so, I'll have an idea on what to expect.

I have only been at my job for 2 weeks now so I have not yet seen any problems, but so far my schedule does seem a bit challenging because it changes all the time, and the days I work also change every week, but I can work with things like this.

Definitely. My job is very stressful. And the worst part is, I don't even get paid! I work with kindergarteners and first graders and second graders at a summer camp. I think you can already see how it can be stressful. First off, it is 90 degrees out every day, and the heat gives me a headache. Then you have all of the really loud kids. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. But they are very loud. Then you add the stress of the "grey shirts" (coordinators) constantly watching over me. And then there are the kids that don't listen. The kids that walk on the curb even though you tell them to get off, that play in the dirt even though you tell them to stop, that walk really slow even though you tell them to catch up, and that do exactly the opposite of what you say. So yeah, it can be stressful. But I love it.

I was working at a popular restaurant as a waitress couple years back and that job was extremely stressful. My boss was very strict and on top of that he had major anger management issues so almost daily I would just hide from his outbursts by chatting with the customers. On the busiest days I had no time to sit or eat lunch so those were probably the most stressful days at the job. If it weren't for the customers and nice chit chats I probably wouldn't have stayed on the job for long.
