Girls Always Fall For Guys With Spandax Movie: The Amazing Spider Man By: thing1 Oh man, what genre is this? Romance? Comedy? Action?Suspense? Horror? I don't think the director knew what he wanted to do, so he threw a little bit of everything there. The movie starts off with Peter Parker as a kid. Without any spoilers, it explains what happens to his father. Peter and his father are playing Hide and Seek in the House, and while Peter is looking for his father, he stumbles into what appears to be his father's study. There are papers all over the place. He starts screaming for his Dad, and eventually Mommy and Daddy show up. They take him and drop him off at Uncle Ben's and Aunt May's place, only leave and never be seen again. ( gonna jump ahead for just a minute here... ) The movie never outright states that Mom and Dad are dead, but it does seem like is applied when Peter blows up at Uncle Ben and Aunt May after he forgets to pick up Aunt May at 9PM one night. ( Gonna skip ahead about 30 minutes into the movie now ) Peter Parker sneaks into OSCORP after he finds out that the Doctor that his father works with was hiring Interns, but that the Intern Applications are now closed. He ends up taking what appears to be a Latino name, evidenced by him speaking some Spanish after he grabs the badge.and meets up with the rest of the Interns, of whom a girl named Gwen Stacy is leading, with the title of "Head Intern", and the Doctor's Assistant. She recognizes him from school, but doesn't rat him out. He's told not to wonder off, and to stick with the group, but what does he do? He wonders off. He wonders off to this houses there really weird looking spiders, and they make this really strong string. A tiny little cartridge of the string holds 100 meters of it. He touches it, and the machine gathering up the string stops, and a bunch of the weird looking spiders falls on him. he swipes them off, thinking he gets all of them, but he does't. He misses one, but he doesn't know it yet. He is pretty freaked out by getting all the creepy crawlers on him, so he goes back and finds Gwen, who he actually has a crush on. She is pretty upset at him, because she told him not wonder off, she was covering for him, and if he was found out, she would get into massive trouble. So, she takes the badge from him, and tells him to leave. As soon as he does this, he gets bitten. He doesn't actually develope the wierd things in his arms that allows him to shoot the webs... he takes 2 watches ( 1 for each hand ), and messes with them, using the cases of the strings for his... well, webs. As for the girl... well, I won't spoil that. I have already said too much. I just covered that stuff that everybody already knew about Spider Man. Cinematography: 8 out of 10. Somebody requested that I review this movie, so I did. And, I was pleasantly surprised. They were not overdone. There was just enough. There was only one part I had a problem with, and that was the end when a thing is released that is supposed to be a gas. But... it looks like colored snow when they do the close ups. So, I think that this warrants a solid 8. Sound: 7 out of 10. There wasn't anything really memorable. There were no songs, and I think that is was actually a good thing that wasn't any songs during the movie. The only reason I give it a 7 instead of a 9 is because of Peter Parker's actor. He just seemed... out of place with his character, and doesn't do Spider-Man justice. It's not what you would have expected... Re-watch-ability: 8 out of 10. I could watch this a few more times, back to back, just to learn a few things that I might have missed, and not get tired of it. But, I think that this movie is more of a kind of movie that you really have to watch during a marathon, probably of the entire series. For that reason, ( and because I have a thing for movie series ), I rate the re-watch-ability an 8. Depth: 7 out of 10. This is the first movie in a trilogy, they try to start off the depth. I love how they used an old villain from the comics to open up this new series that was not used in the last Spider-Man series. Also, the mix of emotions I felt, from the "OH ****", to the "Awww... you have got to be kidding me!" to those "Oh, now isn't that sweet" moments, the movie had a lot of depth to the story. Story: 8 out of 10. Note: See depth. I pretty much summarized the story rating in the descr Audience: 9 out of 10. I feel that this series, after having just watched only the first movie is actually geared towards older fans, and newer fans, too. They pretty much spent the first 45 minutes describing everything you need to know about Spider-Man. Just for that fact that I feel that this series is going to be geared towards people who don't know about Spider-Man already, I give this a 9. Overall: 7.8 As always, feel free to leave constructive criticism, and if you have requests, then feel free to ask for them. hmmm....someone wasn't paying attention to what I said. I never said cinematography was an issue. In fact, it was probably one of its strengths as well as the special effects. I said that the story and the execution of the story and screenplay were unbalanced in pacing and bad flow, meaning the story made had some parts that made no sense and they way that they told the story made it uncomfortable to watch in terms of how fast or how slow it's going. |
