Yesterday, my Dad and I blew up some fireworks, a little late for 4th of July, but we were camping for the weekend. Anyway, we realized in Wisconsin its illegal to use fireworks by yourself. Even though we bought some the next town over. And my Dad did this for 20 years. :V

Anyway, are fireworks illegal in your State or country?

Connecticut resident here. We're allowed to have the small fire crackers and sparklers and stuff. You can buy those by the 40 pack in stores around here, albeit you need ID to prove you're at least 18.

The big whizzzz-wheeeeee-bang fireworks are illegal, but in some areas the cops don't really seem to care. Unless you live in a major city or a residential area, you can pretty much get away with anything. I doesn't help, though, that Willimantic is kind of known for its shootings, so any unexpected -blam!- noise gets noticed.

Fireworks are not illegal in Pennsylvania, but there are heavy regulations on them. Stores are not allowed to sell three particular kinds of fireworks, any you can't use a lot of legal ones without a permit.

Yea, in my area, it is actually illegal to use fireworks here. (I don't really want to give out my location). 

Though, I once traveled to a different state before were fireworks were legal. I always wanted to look at the fireworks store over there since I never seen them before.

In Scotland it is not illegal to purchase or use fireworks but I think you can only use them in certain areas like your home or a park. I have seen people use fireworks a lot especially on Guy Fawkes/bonfire night and Hogmany.

In my state they are not illegal. However in some counties you cannot shoot them unless you are a professional. Some cities have that code in my state too. At one time western counties in my state of Tennessee banned fireworks because they were in a major drought 

I know many will disagree with me on here. But I think fireworks should only be shot by professionals. Fireworks scare animals, can catch houses on fire. Not to mention if you have Autism it is very draining for those of us on the spectrum as we have sensory issues.

I also live in Pennsylvania. They may not be illegal, but they are heavily regulated. It makes it difficult to get some decent fireworks. We usually have to go to Ohio if we want to get anything good.

It's illegal here in New York though I see nobody doing anything about it, SO MANY fireworks went off on the 4th of July and fireworks kept going off every night for the next 3 days, and nobody got in trouble.

Actually, they are. But, I think it goes by city, not county. I don't agree with it, but some of the sounds do freak me out if I don't recognize them ( I have PTSD )

I live in Finland and the only time we're allowed to do fireworks is at 6PM to 6AM on New Year's Eve, and they're also only on sale during the last week of the year. Many people find it quite annoying when basically everybody in the city has their own fireworks but I somehow like the small chaos it creates every year.

I live in Alabama, and they aren't illegal here. However, I've never had any interest in buying any or setting them off, to be honest.  I find them rather dull. XD

In my home-state of Louisiana, it's legal to purchase fireworks anywhere, in fact, we even have firework stores, stalls, and everything you can imagine, but the only time that they are opened is late June/early July (for Independence Day) and Late December (for New Years).

As long as we're not in a burn ban, which happened 2 years ago. The entire state couldn't shoot because we were in a pretty severe drought, it forced all the firework vendors to sell their stuff for 50-75% off. We bought a bunch and shot them around August after the ban was lifted.
